Best Sushi & Teppanyaki in Okinawa Japan | Muslim Travel & Food Tour of Okinawa Snorkeling & Sushi
Asslamu Alikom - Greetings of Peace everyone! We hope you enjoy our japan travel vlog about our next trip to visit Okinawa and the amazing beaches.
Top things to do in Okinawa Japan:
1) Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium (Motobu-cho)
2) Okinawan food!
3) Ishigaki Island
4) Makishi Public Market
5) Snorkeling & Scuba diving
We started our travel vlog by taking a flight from Osaka airport to Okinawa airport. We decided to go to Okinawa because it is a different from the rest of Japan and it has beautiful beaches resembling Hawaii and Maui!
Once we landed there were two main options to get to the resort, either take a taxi or take a bus service that stops at major resorts. We decided to take a taxi because the bus service runs every hour and we were told that it takes 1-2 hours to drive to our location and we did not want to wait. The taxi is probably the most expensive way to get around which costs around $45-50 USD.
Our resort is called Sheraton Sunmarina Resort located in central area of Okinawa Island. Okinawa feels more American than the rest of Japan because there is a large US army base and a lot of the restaurants and sightseeing is catered towards Americans. The resort was large and the property had a beautiful private beach with a lot of amenities and I recommend staying there if you want a central location.
If you want to visit the north side of Okinawa and you are staying at the south it will take you at least 2 hours by car so that is why we decided to stay central!
We were hungry and ready to find Okinawan food and try the unique japanese food that is available. We walked to a popular Teppanyaki steak and seafood restaurant called Jam! This was great because we have not yet tried Japanese teppanyaki and we really wanted to eat at a japanese restaurant.
Jam was a unique experience, the food is cooked right infront of you and its great show. We had the seafood teppanyaki lunch which provided us with fish, scallops, lobster and jumbo shrimp/prawn! We really loved the food and it tasted amazing.
After lunch we wanted see the beautiful beaches and relax. We decided to take a snorkeling trip to a famous area called the Blue Cave(青の洞窟). This is a popular diving spot and you will see beautiful colors and amazing fish.
After the diving we went to visit the famous Okinawa Churami Aquariam(美ら海水族館)however we did not film because we decided to just relax and enjoy the time together. The aquarium is great and is more for families.
For dinner, we were ready to have some amazing japanese food! We got to try the unique food found in Okinawa and have some amazing fresh sushi and sashimi. We got to try the unique Umibudo – sea grapes which is a japanese seaweed that is located in Okinawa, its commonly referred to as seaweed caviar. We also tried the stir friend noodles found in Okinawa called Yakisoba. We also had amazing sushi that was so fresh it melts in your mouth!
We loved our first day in Okinawa and we loved the people in Okinawa. Not a lot of muslims in Okinawa and there were no muslim tourists and a lot of people were curious of Sarah's hijab! Really fun place to be and can't wait to share our next japanese travel vlog

Things to do in Okinawa Japan : Tataki waterfall
Taa taki falls is located on the north west coast of Okinawa's main island. To access the falls you will need a car and a good set of water shoes.
The hike is 2.4kms long along the Henan river and with no designated paths, you will need to hike through the water and over some small obstacles, although nothing too hard.
Taa taki water fall is a beauty to behold, the falls are pretty much a straight drop into the lagoon below, plenty of room for swimming and playing with the rope swing (although do so at your own risk)
As the popularity of the waterfall is increasing, so is the impact left by humans, so do your best to leave it as beautiful as you found it and take your trash home with you...extra points for people willing to grab trash left by others ;)
Thank you for watching and as always please subscribe.

Sunabe Seawall Snorkeling 9 Sep 12
Living on Okinawa does have its advantages. Sunabe Sea Wall lazy sunday morning with Rob, Sarah, Marissa and the fish that live in our neighborhood. We made the 5 minute drive (mostly because it was 85 degrees and 70% humidity), parked and walked the 200 feet to the water. The sun was so bright today that it had a prism effect. I have never seen anything like it before. All the blues, greens and oranges made some really beautiful fish hard for the camera to see.

Untouched Yanbaru in Okinawa
An hour drive from Naha Airport, Yanbaru in the northern part of Okinawa Island includes the fishing port town of Motobu, the farming village of Nakijin, western Nago City and neighboring Iejima Island. The land is generally flat, making for a leisurely bike ride past hibiscus bushes along the coast, narrow streets through traditional neighborhoods, such as Imadomari, and stretches of farmland with the occasional resident water buffalo.
