DIVING TO THE CRACK OF LIFE, PORTHKERRIS, CORNWALL
PORTHKERRIS, CORNWALL HAS ONE OF THE BEST SHORE DIVES IN THE UK. CLEAR WATER (USUALLY) AND AN ABUNDANCE OF LIFE LEADS TO AN INTERESTING DIVE.
TO GET TOTHE CRACK OF LIFE TO SET YOU LUBBER LINE TO LEFT HAND SIDE OF THE PROMINENT ROCK WHISH IS AT THE SOUTHERN END OF DRAWNA ROCKS. YOU WILL DIVE OVER A COMBINATION OF PEBBLES, ROCKS AND WEED TO AN AREA KNOWN AS THE FISH BOWL. WHICH AS THE NAME SUGGESTS IS TEAMING WITH FISH. YOU THEN PASS THROUGH A GULLY WHICH IS THE POINT YOU USED YOUR LUBBER LINE TO FIND. THIS IS AROUND 7M DEPTH APPROX, SHINGLES BOTTOMED, AND A COUPLE FEET WIDE...YOU THEN COME OUT INTO A KELP COVERED AREA, AND YOU SWIM INLINE WITH THE GULLY,FOR APPROX 5M AND SHOULD NOTICE A NOTCH BETWEEN THE ROCKS, AND A SMALL DROP OFF OF 3MS, SWIM DOWN AND THE CRACK OF LIFE IS ON THE RIGHT.
