Summary dive trips with Felipe Diving, Providencia Island, Columbia
PROVIDENCIA, COLOMBIA
Pretty excited about this video just because it was such a fun trip and I wasn't even sure the trip was going to happen with all the moving parts and what not. But we made it there and it was epic! Here's a snippet of mostly Providencia and some of San Andres. If you ever have the chance to go, GO! The little circular island is Crab Cay which is just off of Providencia, you have to get a boat to take you there and we went early and beat the crowds, so worth it. Wouldn't have been possible without our awesome Airbnb hosts,
This is was all filmed on a GoPro Hero 4, Canon T2i, and a DJI Phantom 3 Pro, and an iPhone 7+.

Felipe's Dive Shop (scuba diving in Providencia, Colombia)
A local gem of Providencia, Felipe's Dive Shop is one of the premiere scuba shops on the small Colombian island. It provides scuba instruction and certification for beginners, as well as various intermediate to advanced dives for those with some experience.
Scuba Diving with sharks on Providencia Island, San Andres, Colombia
Great scuba diving on Providencia Island. Corals are very preserved and plenty of fish makes it very nice place to dive. Find out more about Providencia island on my blog
Snorkelling or scuba diving is definitely better on Providencia than on San Andres.

Snorkeling for Pirate Treasure in Providencia, Colombia, Crab Cay and Morgan's Head S1E8
In this episode the Slow Boat crew, Stevie and Linus, visit the best snorkeling spots in Providencia, Colombia, in the Caribbean Sea. They visit Crab Cay (part of Old Providence McBean Lagoon national part) by dinghy and hike and dinghy out to Morgan's Head on Santa Catalina island to see the real pirate treasure, an unspoiled reef close to shore. There is a pedestrian bridge connecting Santa Catalina island to the main town in Providencia. Linus also visits the ruins of Ft. Warwick. Both Morgan's Head and Ft. Warwick are a short hike from the town in Providencia and are accessible by a pedestrian bridge. Both spots are no fishing zones.

Caribbean reef sharks - Providencia - Colombia 2019
Impressions of dives with Caribbean reef sharks at the western caribbean island Providencia, Colombia in March 2019.
The Caribbean reef shark (Carcharhinus perezi) is a species of requiem shark, belonging to the family Carcharhinidae. It is the most commonly encountered reef shark in the Caribbean Sea.
Why spearing the lionfish there?
The lionfish is a significant invasive species in the Caribbean Sea. It has been described as one of the most aggressively invasive species on the planet. Rigorous and repeated removal of lionfish from invaded waters could potentially control the exponential expansion of the lionfish in these waters.

Scuba Diving in Providencia Island, Columbia - Adventure Guru
Explore some of Colombia's mountainous Caribbean Islands and it's Archipelago of San Andrés. If you're looking for off of the beaten path, Providencia is a gem. This laid-back Caribbean Island is more about vibes than being Colombian. The majority of locals are descended from slaves the British brought. There is only one road that circumnavigates the island and very few side roads. There is a pristine reef that surrounds the island. Thank you to Matt Tipton for filming and sharing your fun!
