Hidden Treasures: Sisters' Islands Marine Park | CNA Insider
To encourage public appreciation of Singapore’s diverse marine ecosystem, NParks had developed the dive trails located at Pulau Subar Laut or the Big Sister’s Island, Sisters’ Islands Marine Park. The Dive Trail, consisting two separate trails with varying depths, are marked with underwater signboards that serve as both station markers and underwater educational resources. Approximately 100m in length, the shallow trail will take divers around a circuitous loop to a maximum depth of 6m, and the deep trail will reach a maximum depth of 15m.

Scuba diving as we know it has been around since the ‘50s and people have been thinking up ideas and making dreams come true. Others have been making some pretty wacky stuff that is a little crap to be honest and some things naively dangerous. Today boys and girls we’re going to be looking at some of the worst dive gear in the world that I know of, old and new but of course this is a social experience so feel free to add your own ideas on what the worst dive kit is around in the comments

First 5 Pieces Of Dive Gear For New Divers To Buy
New To Scuba Diving? What dive gear should you buy first? Why is it better to own than to rent scuba equipment? All these questions and more are answered in our latest scuba diving video!
When I started scuba diving, I made mistakes when I bought my first set of scuba diving equipment. I bought gear that was either cheap, or almost broken or that just wasn't suitable for the cold water diving I grew up doing in the UK. I learned from my mistakes and want to help you to avoid the same ones, by encouraging you to save up for one piece at a time and invest in quality dive gear.

People often say the world is a smaller place than before, but a more optimistic view is that our world is much larger now and it doesn’t take a three-week voyage to visit the orient, we can get pretty much anywhere we want on the planet within 24hrs. Except getting around the M25, that’ll take more than a day. This magic ability to traverse the globe means that scuba divers don’t have to limit our diving to the local pond for the rest of our lives and the equipment manufacturers are making their wears geared towards the travelling diver too so you’ll often see lightweight, compact versions of regulators and fins made for the travelling diver.

Scuba diving has been through a series of different marketing strategies throughout the years. When scuba diving was marketed as dark and dangerous to appeal to the lads and adventurers, fewer families signed up. When it was made to be light and happy and safe, the adrenaline seekers went elsewhere so the public view on scuba diving shifts between the light and the dark but the rules around scuba diving rarely change and there are some big scuba diving No-Nos.
Yes scuba diving has become safer and safer and most of it takes place in the sunny and warm waters of the tropics but it’s still a serious activity and the rules you learn in your courses are there for a reason, and while some of these are definitely in your textbook some of these you have to learn on the waves. As a general rule of thumb, never say any of these words or phrases to a scuba diver as a few bonus no-nos, never ever say: Goggles, flippers, oxygen tank
So, Hi I’m Mark from Simply scuba and here are a few BIG Scuba Diving No Nos!

Snorkeling in Adventure Cove Sentosa Island Singapore
This is probably the most undiscovered snorkeling experience in South East Asia.

The rainbow reef at Adventure Cove Waterpark Singapore Sentosa is probably one of the best places around the world for kids to take the plunge and start their snorkeling journey. Snorkel with 20,000 tropical fishes over a colorful reef, all are friendly to humans. You might even spot some of the larger sized fish in this snorkel too if you are lucky! Adventure Cove’s Rainbow Reef does provide a magical and surreal experience (even though it is man-made), and let us know if you think this might possibly be the best snorkeling in Asia!
Some things to note before you embark on the trip: Swimmers cannot remove your life jackets to dive down, but feel free to bring your underwater cameras and video along. Also, participants must have some form of swimming ability, and we did notice some tourists being rejected entry due to their lack of swimming know-how.
Overall, the water park is very good and clean. There are many rides and attractions, which varies from rides for adrenaline junkies to the faint hearted, which we will cover in another episode.
We absolutely love Sentosa Island in Singapore, it is probably one of the Top 10 Places to Visit in Singapore! There are just so many things you can do here from Universal Studios Singapore, to seeing the huge Merlion, to Resorts World Sentosa and the absolutely beautiful Palawan Beach! This was also the spot of the Trump Kim peace summit back in 2016!
Leave us a comment if there is somewhere you think we should go to in Singapore or South East Asia!

It's a Scuba Showdown! We are breaking down the two most common styles of buoyancy compensating devices: the traditional Jacket-style BCD and the modular Back Plate Wing setup. Both have their different applications for scuba diving, but which is right for you?
Also, I'm giving you my single biggest piece of advice if you are looking to invest in your first scuba diving BCD.
I do a lot of different types of dives, so I like to have a well-stocked scuba gear locker to be able to choose the right tools for the job.
Thanks for watching!
James

After not diving at all in the last 8 months (for no reason) I decided to go back into the water. I went scuba diving in Tulamben, matnta point, and Krystal bay looking for the Mola Mola. What a world it is under the sea, so many animals, different landscapes or maybe seascapes is the actual word? Anyways I was a bit nervous the first dive but that went away quickly, it's just like riding a bike. Once you learn you never forget. Anyways I will leave all the info here about the dive company I used, good equipment, cool staff and knowledgeable about the dive sites.
