World’s Best Scuba Diving - South Africa, Sodwana bay
Sodwana Bay is a bay in South Africa on the KwaZulu Natal north coast, between St. Lucia and Lake Sibhayi. It is in the Sodwana Bay National Park, and the Maputaland Marine Reserve, and is a popular recreational diving destination.
Being in a Marine Reserve, the coral and marine life are just amazing and well reserved.
Sodwana bay located not far from my hometown where I grew up and it's just so great that I can share this video and amazing experience with you.
This trip we dived 6 of the many many dive spots at Sodwana bay.
We dived 2 mile, 5 mile, 7mile and 9mile.
At Sodwana Bay the reef profile tends to be flat with pinnacles, shallow drop offs, swim-throughs and gullies that range in depth from 8m to 100m and are suitable to novice and experienced divers alike. There is something for everyone!

Sodwana Freediving
My first time freediving in Sodwana Bay, South Africa. What an amazing place. So glad I finally got around to diving on these amazing reefs.
I joined up with my instructor as she taught an adventure freediving course. If you are wanting to learn freediving check out her page:
First day's visibility wasn't that great with most of the footage from Stringer Reef. On the second day we dived 2 mile reef and it was amazing.
Our diving operator was super accommodating taking us to multiple sites as well as going out of there way to try get us marine life sightings. They also pump some great tunes like thunderstruck:

End of a boat dive in Sodwana
Here's the end of a boat dive in Sodwana, with Coral Divers. Laurine, Esther and Christo approach the side of the boat and wait their turn to hand up their weight belts and gear. Once they've done that, they'll pull themselves onto the boat (possibly with help), make sure that their gear has been secured, and enjoy a sweet or a drink of water before the boat heads back to the beach.

Diving with wild dolphins in Sodwana
Sodwana is the diving capital of South Africa. The highlight of any dive has to be diving with wild dolphins. Sometimes we are lucky enough to encounter them on the way to the dive sites. The skipper allows us to jump in with snorkel and fins and swim with them as long as the dolphins allow.

a day in SODWANA BAY
Welcome to the north eastern coastline of South Africa! Sodwana Bay is arguably the best scuba diving destination in South Africa and is situated 4 hours drive north of Durban. We have been coming here for over 20 years and have loved every trip! This time we dive with Louis Olivier and Pisces dive charters, we visit the Sodwana Bay market where we enjoy true Sodwana cones and we end our trip on the shores of Lake Sibaya.
This was truly a challenging film to put together. Not only is it our first 4K film, but it includes loads of underwater footage - a first for us. The weather was very unpredictable and although we had some bangers, some of the drone shots were really hard to nail! Thank you for your patience and your continued support!
Our next projects are booked and we are already preparing for the shoots. Should you have any ideas and opportunities where our creations could add value - please contact us below!
