Maui epic scuba diving - Hawaii 2014 GoPro Hero 3
Recent scuba diving video from Hawaii. Two Maui shore dives (Olowalu and Makena Landing). Boat dives locations - Lanai (1st Cathedral, 2nd Cathedral, Fish Rock), Molokini crater. I used GoPro 3 Black Edition with and without red filter plus Sola 500 video light. All in HD.
I had 6 (time limited) boat dives (not so cool for the price) and 2 shore dives (very cool) I was diving with two different companies. Boat dives with Lahaina Divers. Amazingly most of my video made on shore dives thanks to Mike from Maui Diving Scuba Center. Best on the island if you looking for enthusiastic and knowledgeable dive instructor. Super cool time underwater.

Molokini Crater, Maui, Hawaii (Snorkel)
We took a snorkeling tour with the Pacific Whale Foundation out of Maalaea Harbor in Wailuku, HI. Molokini is a crescent-shaped, partially submerged volcanic crater which forms a small islet located in the Alalakeiki Channel between the islands of Maui and Kahoʻolawe.

The Best Beach in Hawaii & How To Find It—Makalawena (Take the brutal 4x4 road or a scorching hike)
Several of you who live here on the big island have asked us to be sure and remind all visitors of the following:
1. Makalawena is environmentally sensitive.
2. No facilities, so pack it in and pack it out.
3. Use only reef safe sunblock.
4. No Fires
5. Malama 'Aina
This video documents how to get to the most beautiful beach in Hawaii—Makalawena, also known as Pu'u Ali'i. This beach is not only known for powdered-sugar sand, epic surfing, boogie boarding, diving, and snorkeling, but it is also remote and hard to get to. There are two ways to access this beach. One way involves a brutal 4x4 journey over lava fields and large rocks. Do not take a rental car, even a jeep unless you have great insurance and are also willing to drive slower than most people can walk!
The other way to access this beach is to take HWY 19 to Kekahakai State Park. Once you exit the highway, it is about a 10-minute drive over a slightly improved gravel road, complete with excessive double speed bumps. From the parking lot at the state park, you take a 45-minute hike North over a'a lava and sand dunes before arriving at Makalawena.
Either way, you decide to go, it is important to bring plenty of water and protective clothing. Don't forget the reef-safe-sunscreen because the coral at this location is epic. If the surf is calm, there are beautiful diving spots a hundred yards offshore. It is common to see green sea turtles, puffer fish, reef sharks, and more. If the surf is big, leave your snorkel equipment behind and bring your board, as there is an awesome surf break.
If you have young children and are able to carry them in, there is a wonderful wading pool on the North end of the beach. There is also a brackish pond on the South end that you can rinse off in, at the end of your day. Makalawena has not yet become overly discovered and aside from an occasional jet airplane landing at Kona International Airport, there are few things to distract you from the pristine environment of this magical tropical paradise.
Last year we decided to sell our family home here in Hawaii, and buy a 4x4 thirty-foot RV to travel around North America doing service and educational work helping people live and die joyfully. If you enjoy this type of video, please subscribe and hit the notification bell, as things are going to get very exciting, as we begin our several year journey of love and service.
GoGracefully.com is helping people with last wishes and living wills. Learn how can you help your parents, siblings, children, and friends. This is a new service that helps us make our wishes clear to those who need to understand them. Facing death and dying is complicated and anyone interested in preventing fear and confusion will benefit from the free tools and information presented on our web site.
GoGracefully approaches death from all angles, the material, the psychological/emotional, and the spiritual. Our mission is advancing the understanding of death while serving the living.
It's imperative that we make our wishes known ahead of time. One of the easiest ways to do this is through a properly completed living will. GoGracefully advocates and supports the do it yourself (DIY) approach to planning. Perhaps you have already written a will or have set up a trust. If you are like many of us though, you have done very little to prepare for death especially with respect to the emotional, psychological, and spiritual aspects of end-of-life planning. That's okay, we're here to help!
Concerning material preparation for death, there are a few legal documents we should all be familiar with and those are:
1. Advance Healthcare Directive, also known as a living will;
2. Medical Power of Attorney;
3. Power of Attorney;
4. Will or Testament;
5. A Trust.
Anyone of these documents can be created on our website for $40 (forty dollars). This is a huge saving compared to what you would pay an attorney.

Ka'anapali Beach, Maui, Hawaii
Previously named ‘America’s Best Beach’ in 2003, Ka’anapali Beach is one of the most popular, and well-deserved, choices among Maui’s 81 distinct beaches:
Located in west Maui only a short drive from Olowalu, Lahaina Town and Napili, Ka’anapali Beach is one of the best options for those seeking golden-white sand, turquoise waters, sunshine, Hawaiian Sea Turtle sightings, gorgeous sunsets, walking trails, snorkeling, sunbathing, swimming, cliff jumping and even scuba diving. In addition, Ka’anapali Beach is also a convenient beach location near plenty of restaurants, bars, shops, spas, condos and resorts, and has plentiful options for public restrooms.
Stretching along 3 miles of coastline, this often-visited Maui beach - also known as ‘Black Rock’ for its prime cliff jumping spot on the northern end - Ka’anapali Beach is one of the top local spots for beach-going, and features a nightly cliff diving ceremony at sunset that acts as a prime photo opportunity for guests and locals alike.
Bring along your snorkel gear, or rent it from one of the many nearby activity and accommodation providers, and explore Maui’s most unique marine life, from endemic species like the humuhumunukunukuapua’a, the state fish of Hawaii, to other species like octopus, eagle rays, sea stars, sea cucumbers and sea turtles. It’s recommended to arrive early, as parking normally fills up later in the afternoon, and only to go out on days when the water is calm and you have someone to swim with, as dangerous strong currents can pop up from time to time.
Resorts like the Honua Kai, Hyatt Regency, Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa, Ka’anapali Beach Hotel, Aston at the Whaler and Westin Maui Resort & Spa are located just nearby for ultimate convenience to those staying in the area, but we also recommend bringing cash or a card in case you want to have lunch or enjoy a post-swim pau hana cocktail at one of the many nearby bars and restaurants, including popular options like Leilani’s on the Beach, Hula Grill, Tiki Bar & Grill, Duke’s Beach House or Monkeypod Kitchen.
We’ll see you on the beach!

IAO VALLEY STATE PARK - WAILUKU - MAUI - HAWAII
Iao Valley State Park - Wailuku - Maui - Hawaii

Destination Makena - by @alohastoked
Makena beach is a beach of many names. It is also referred to as Big Beach, Bigs, or the traditional Hawaiian name : Oneloa Beach. This beach is located on Maui's Southern end, past all of the hotels in Wailea. Just keep driving, just keep driving!
*Warning : The Shore Break at this beach during the summer months can be extremely dangerous. Broken backs, necks, collar bones, and wrists are commonplace here. A few tips : Never turn your back to the sea while visiting this beach. I have seen many a tourist become a tumbleweed of sand and screams while trying to get a cool photo near the shore break. If the waves feel too big. Don't go out in the water. The locals make it look easy but trust us, this is not the shore break to play in when the summer surf is up.
Thankfully, Makena beach now has 3 fully staffed lifeguard stands during park hours (6am-6pm). Be safe, and enjoy one of Maui's most beautiful beaches.
Pro Tip : wear a rash guard instead of sunscreen if you can. Sunscreen isn't helping the delicate reef systems in Hawaii and the less of it we have, the better. If you must wear sunscreen, try to go as organic as you can, and wait 20 min before you enter the ocean!
*Eh, and no forget to take all the trash out, that you take in : )
