Bermuda Cruise Port Guide: Sea Glass Beach, Gibbs Hill Lighthouse, and Church Bay
In this video, we’ll provide an overview of our second day in Bermuda, when we visited Sea Glass Beach, Gibbs Hill Lighthouse, and Church Bay.
Our ship -- the Celebrity Summit -- docked at the Royal Naval Dockyard port for three days in August of 2019. During our stay, we used Bermuda’s bus and ferry system to explore on our own.

Basic info: We rented 2 Anaig Shines from Oleander Cycle to get around.
Sea Glass Beach: A great pit stop, pretty and unique. Not a long stop though. It's hidden behind the blue / green building.
Horseshoe bay: A classic, must go. Great beach, good facilities, not so pink sand.
Somerset Draw Bridge: World smallest draw bridge. Must see but it is just a pit stop not a long activity
For Sunset, we really recommend Sea Glass Beach, it's amazing.
GIbbs Hill Lighthouse: Great views, worth the trip up to see from the top. Can be a little buggy...
Jobson's Cove Beach - Great local beach, check it out! More secluded.
Royal Naval Dockyard - Lots of touristy shops and restaurants, worth a visit.
Snorkel Park Beach - Small fees that add up fast! Easily the worst beach in Bermuda but still a very nice beach. You can't beat the location or the little fish exfoliating your feet while you swim.

Bermuda's Best Beaches
Read more:
The beaches of Bermuda have many different personalities. This video showcases the many ways to enjoy the beaches of Bermuda. Veteran Bermudian cliff jumper Andrew Kirkpatrick gives us the rundown:
1) Horseshoe Bay is the premiere beach of Bermuda. Go here to see and be seen.
2) Admiralty House Park and Clarence Cove are where the locals play. Cliff jumping and picnics are all-time staples.
3) At Coopers Island you can be among nature in secluded romance and pass the time on the many walking trails.
4) Sea Glass is a telling name for this beach. Go here to see the natural glass from the salt water ocean wash up on this beautiful beach in Somerset.
5) Tobacco Bay is the ultimate party beach. It offers music, drinks and dancing around-the-clock for every type of traveler!

The Beach at Snorkel Park has refreshments and chair rentals etc.

Have you been to Bermuda? Which was your favorite beach?
- John Smith’s Bay Beach -
- Shelly Bay Beach -
- Warwick Long Bay -
- Horseshoe Bay Beach -
- Turtle Bay -
- Cooper’s Island -
My favorite is Cooper’s Island. Why?
- Most of the time it’s only you in the beach.
- Perfect spot for sunset and sunrise.
- Long stretch of white, fine sand beach.
- Peaceful and quiet.
Turtle Bay is just beside it.
The most convenient way to go there is by car or renting a scooter or a moped. You can also take a taxi, but make sure to inform the taxi driver of what time you will be picked up as there are no taxis that pass there and the bus stop is far.

Bermuda Cruise Day 3 (Snorkel Park Beach & Royal Naval Dockyard Tour)
See what we did on the third and final day of our stay in Bermuda via our cruise ship (the Celebrity Summit)! We highly recommend staying at the Royal Naval Dockyard area where your cruise ship is docked because typically it will leave by 3 PM in the afternoon, and you don't want to be farther out in Bermuda and risk being left behind.
Our ship was docked at King's Wharf at the Royal Naval Dockyard. After a late breakfast we grabbed some beach towels and headed out from the cruise port area towards our main attraction for today, the nearby Snorkel Park Beach. We saw lots of folks having fun at what looked like a Pirate Ship, and it turned out to be a bar called Calico Jack's. En route to the Snorkel Park Beach, we saw the area where the Bermuda Bus Stop for the Dockyard is located, plus the Dockyard Courtesy Shuttle as well.
We visited the Snorkel Park Beach which is the closet beach to where the cruise ships dock. It was pretty crowded on this third and final day of both ship's stay in Bermuda, but we managed to have fun and even do some snorkeling as well. The water was pretty clear and we saw quite a few fish, though some of the rocks were pretty sharp under water so be aware.
Afterwards we walked around and visited some shops, including ones in the Clocktower Mall.
Then it was time to head back to the cruise ship for a scenic sail-away. This was from our June 2019 11 day cruise to Bermuda & New England on the Celebrity Summit.
Enjoy and please feel free to comment or ask questions & we'd be happy to reply!

The Glass has been smoothed down by the waves over time.

- Long stretch of beach.
- Not crowded (best time to come, sunrise or early morning, like we always do).
- Turquoise water and white sand beach.
- Best for picnic.

PINK SAND BEACH IN BERMUDA! HORSESHOE BAY
Hey guys! Day one in Bermuda and we decided to take a shuttle to the famous horseshoe bay beach famous for its pink sand! Yes the sand is pink, what!! Well its not full on pink it is more like white sand with tons of bright pink specks. Definitely cool and so soft! The water was so blue and the scenery was just amazing. It was a 20 minute shuttle ride which allowed us to get a mini tour of parts of the island. If you are heading over to Horseshoe bay I strongly suggest getting there early like we did so you get a good spot because it got super busy! Stay tuned for days 2 and 3 of our Bermuda cruise! Thank you for watching!

Bermuda was absolutely beautiful. Thanks to the Twizy from Current Vehicles we were able to go all over the island and explore more than we would have ever been able to through excursions and public transportation.
Let us know if you have any questions!
Cheers!
