Glass house Mysore | Mysore tourism Karnataka tourism
The glass house at Mysore is a new tourist attraction on the Chamundi Hill road. The Glass house also known as house of mirrors or hall of mirrors is a popular tourist attraction.Mysore glass house is one of the kind in the city so far. The basic concept behind a house of mirrors is to be a maze-like puzzle. In addition to the maze, participants are also given mirrors as obstacles, and glass panes to parts of the maze they cannot yet get to. Sometimes the mirrors may be distorted because of different curves, convex, or concave in the glass to give the participants unusual and confusing reflections of themselves, some humorous and others frightening.
The origins of the house of mirrors stem from the hall of mirrors in the Palace of Versailles.
Upon a visit to France to discuss colonial land agreements, Peter Stuyvesant arrived at the Palace of Versailles and gazed upon the hall of mirrors present in the palace. Peter (or Petris) became determined to bring this amazement to the newly founded colonial city of New Amsterdam, of which he was governor. Peter Stuyvesant's House of Mirrors was founded in 1651 and he charged one Dutch gulden for admission.

Open bus trip at Mysore Dasara 2018 || Open top bus Mysore
Link for Yashwanth's Channel :
Dasara open bus tour was organized for the first time, for Mysore Dasara 2018. The open bus tour has day and night tours. The routes for day is different and for night tour the illuminated parts of the city is covered.
The bus charge is Rs.150 per head which includes refreshments. Sadly we were not served any refreshments in spite of being charged full amount.
It took a lot of effort to get a seat in the open bus as initially the bus driver after issuing the ticket for day tour, cancelled it without any reason. Although many people were interested to take the ride tickets were not issued and no reason was given for not conducting the tour on 11 Oct 2018. On further enquiry the bus driver gave this mobile number 9845257088 to be contacted to get seat booked. On repeated contact with the person on the above mentioned mobile number, and after promising a seat in the first morning tour on 14 Oct 2018, the bus didn’t even turn up to the bus station. So again the bus tour did not happen and the contact person simply switched off his mobile when we tried to contact him. Later , finally on 15 Oct 2018 , were we able to get on the bus for the tour at 3pm slot, even this trip was planned to be delayed to 4:30 pm . Only when all the passengers objected to the unwarranted delay even when all seats were full, only then did the tour commence.
On all days of my visit for the tour there was high demand from public for the tour during day time , but all were being sent back , saying either that the tour would not be started now, or saying that the seats were already booked, when no one was sitting in the bus physically. This disheartened many a enthusiastic people who wanted to experience the ride. On the contrary media reported that there was no demand for the day tours.
The open bus tour could have been more successful provided it was conducted more professionally and in transparency. As in when tickets are issued by the driver, then why book the bus in advance. Have agents or middle men taken over the tour booking, causing inconvenience those who approach the bus directly. Authorities need to look into these matters. .
