Seacoast Science Center, Odiorne Point, Rye, New Hampshire Aerial - The Gun Emplacements
Odiorne State Park, Rye, New Hampshire.
This clip was taken right off the main parking lot. To the right of this grassy area are 4 gun emplacements that were part of the coastal defense artillery network that was built here during WWII.
I'm flying a Blade 350 QX2 quadcopter outfitted with a GoPro Hero4 Silver Edition mounted to the standard camera mount (i.e., no gimbal).
I use Adobe Premier Elements 12 to edit my videos. If you can't tell, I don't really know how to use it.
See what the Seacoast Science Center in Rye, NH looked like after winter storm RIley
This is an aerial video shot at the Seacoast Science Center and Odiorne Point State Park in Rye, New Hampshire, on the day after winter storm Riley. Shot with the DJI Mavic Pro drone.
Route 1 was closed at Bracket Road due to storm damage, but the road down to the park was fine and there were a few other people in the parking lot.
By the time I arrived, the tide was about two hours to low tide, so the surf and waves had settled down. There was some damage to a stone wall, and a lot of rocks had been tossed up from the beach, but it looked like they weathered the storm pretty well.
The temperature was in the mid 40s, but the wind made it feel much colder. It was very damp and raw, and the air was hazy with sea spray. I was impressed with how well the Mavic handled the wind. I flew at another location, capturing a total of about 40 minutes of video, and had only one instance of gimbal shake.

PJ and Loren's Wedding at the Seacoast Science Center in Rye, NH
You would be hard pressed to find any where as beautiful to have a wedding than on the coast of Rye, NH. That is why I was so excited for the opportunity to photograph PJ and Loren's wedding at the Seacoast Science Center in Rye, NH. Located right on the rocky coast of the Atlantic Ocean, this venue has unparalleled views of the sea and gorgeously preserved rustic landscapes that serve as the ideal backdrop for beautiful wedding photography. PJ and Loren were the perfect couple to photography, too. They were both open and enthusiastic about doing whatever it took to get the shot. Their payoff are some fun and creative images they will have to enjoy for the many years to come.
