“おおさくやま”と読む。熊本県上天草市。龍ケ岳の麓の約30haの山林が開かれた集落と棚田で標高は高い場所で200mほど。熊本市内から車で約２時間。棚田の規模が非常に大きく、全体を一望できる場所がない。棚田の看板や専用の駐車場も特にない為、車で進みながら棚田の風景を楽しめる。日本の棚田百選に認定されている。
