AMAZING ANIMAL ENCOUNTERS
Every day there is an exciting timetable of Animal Encounters and Shows, during which you can meet amazing animals from around the world up close...
Even though you have brilliant shows, lots of animals and loads of other stuff we found that the kids mainly wanted to hammer pennies into a tree. You will see it towards the end of the video but they spent over an hour just there. I did not mind though as it was a lovely sunny day.
In the video we have:
• Mimi, who is the funny one out of the family; a right little joker.
• Frankie, my eldest and of course does not normally want to be on film. This was a lucky day where I did manage to get a few photos of her.
• My Sisters little boy RooRoo; he is just adorable… In fact takes after me my Mum and sister say… ????
• My Mum; who is just the best Mum in the world (I know everyone says that right).
• And finally me…
Family
In the context of human society, a family (from Latin: familia) is a group of people related either by consanguinity (by recognized birth), affinity (by marriage or other relationship), or co-residence.
Members of the immediate family may include spouses, parents, brothers, sisters, sons, and daughters. Members of the extended family may include grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces, and siblings-in-law. Sometimes these are also considered members of the immediate family, depending on an individual's specific relationship with them.
Fun is the enjoyment of pleasure, particularly in leisure activities. Fun is an experience often unexpected, informal or purposeless. It is an enjoyable distraction, diverting the mind and body from any serious task or contributing an extra dimension to it. Although particularly associated with recreation and play, fun may be encountered during work, social functions, and even seemingly mundane activities of daily living. It may often have little to no logical basis, and opinions on whether an activity is fun may differ. A distinction between enjoyment and fun is difficult but possible to articulate, fun being a more spontaneous, playful, or active event. There are psychological and physiological implications to the experience of fun.
The word fun is associated with sports, entertaining media, high merriment and amusement. Although its etymology is uncertain, it may be derived from fonne (fool) and fonnen (the one fooling the other). Its meaning in 1727 was cheat, trick, hoax, a meaning still retained in the phrase to make fun of.
The way the word fun is used demonstrates its distinctive elusiveness and happiness. Expressions such as Have fun! and That was fun! indicate that fun is pleasant, personal, and to some extent unpredictable. Expressions such as I was making fun of myself convey the sense that fun is something that can be amusing and not to be taken seriously. The adjective funny has two meanings which often need to be clarified between a speaker and listener. One meaning is amusing, jocular, droll and the other meaning is odd, quirky, peculiar. These differences indicate the evanescent and experiential nature of fun and the difficulty of distinguishing fun from enjoyment.
Friendship is a relationship of mutual affection between people. Friendship is a stronger form of interpersonal bond than an association. Friendship has been studied in academic fields such as communication, sociology, social psychology, anthropology, and philosophy. Various academic theories of friendship have been proposed, including social exchange theory, equity theory, relational dialectics, and attachment styles.
Although there are many forms of friendship, some of which may vary from place to place, certain characteristics are present in many types of such bonds. Such characteristics include affection; kindness, love, virtue, sympathy, empathy, honesty, altruism, loyalty, mutual understanding and compassion, enjoyment of each other's company, trust, and the ability to be oneself, express one's feelings to others, and make mistakes without fear of judgment from the friend.

The Imperial Butterfly House Vienna
The Imperial Butterfly House Vienna
The Imperial Tropical Butterfly House was once the private domain of the Emperor Franz Joseph and his beloved Empress Sissi, first built in 1822 and incorporated into part of the old city wall. In 1901 the original greenhouse was replaced with the current form called a Jugendstil or Palmhouse, a massive full block long (128 meters). Since the end of empires the Butterfly House fell into disrepair and was nearly torn down, Butterfly photobut saved and reopened to the public in 1998, now one of the most visited tourist spots in Vienna. An expanse of glass panes set in sculpted stone, a step into the Schmetterlinghaus is an immediate journey from imperial Austria to a tropical world from far away. Filled with exotic plants and constantly humidified, the magical creatures of intricate and infinite colors flit from leafy branch to hollow tree, bathed in the light from the world outside. Visitors can wander a path through the recreated rainforest, past the waterfall and through the dense growth as delicate wings flit past. Photos are allowed at the and the Schmetterlinghaus can be a spot to get a keepsake photo, but the flighty winged insects can be a challenge to get to pause for a close-up. A longer lens can come in very handy and the clammy humidity can readily fog a lens with an almost instant coat of moisture for a extra challenge.
The Butterfly House, St. Louis MO
The Butterfly House opened its doors to the public on September 18, 1998 and provides educational opportunities to a diverse visitorship. In 2000 the outdoor area known as the Butterfly Garden was dedicated. The Butterfly House offers education programs, special events, lectures and, of course, the chance to witness butterflies in two habitats, one native and one tropical.
In July, 2001, the Butterfly House became a division of the Missouri Botanical Garden, a leader in horticultural displays, research and education. The following year, 2002, the second expansion of the facility opened and was designated the Emerson Lakeside Terrace. This plaza area is the site for many special events, both public and private. The same year, the Butterfly House began participating with Butterfly Conservation Initiative, BFCI, of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums and the next year it was accredited by the AZA becoming the only dedicated insect facility in this organization.
The historic Faust Family greenhouse structure was renovated in 2007 and began supplying a significant portion of animal food needs, especially nectar for the butterflies. In 2007, the Butterfly House was also recognized by El Bosque Nuevo as providing funding, through purchases of pupae from this sustainable butterfly farming operation in Costa Rica, to purchase more than 16 acres of land for the protected reserve.
