Roatan. The Best Scuba Diving of our trip! Cruising the Caribbean. Ep120
Ep120. In this episode of Cruising Off Duty we continue our series where we use a Cruise Ship to get around the Caribbean to go scuba diving at 3 different islands. This is the episode where we take a Dive excursion at Roatan. We have to say, this is the best Scuba Diving of our 3 locations, Grand Cayman, Roatan and Belize. The warm crystal clear blue water, the vibrant and colourful coral reef and the sea life (including, amongst other things, turtles and sea horses) made this our favorite dive location of the trips. In the next episode we will be diving at Belize and it was also quite good. So stay tuned to the channel for that episode, coming soon.
Hopefully you enjoy the episode. If so, give it a thumbs up and subscribe to the channel so you don't miss any of the future episodes. If you have any questions you can leave them in the comments under the video or for an even more detailed Q&A you can reach us at CruisingOffDuty@gmail.com
Thanks for watching,
Craig and Janice
PS - Somehow my small camera bag with my usual main camera, Panasonic GH5, and my usual Vlog Camera, Canon G7Xii, were accidentally left in the trunk of the car and didn't make the trip to the Cruise Ship. In my backpack I did have my GoPro 5 and my Mavic Pro Drone, but I ended up shooting most of this episode using my iPhone X. It actually did a pretty good job. Except when I used the front facing camera or Selfie cam to try and Vlog our thoughts. Then, the fact the front facing camera does not have image stabilization was obvious. It made me miss my G7Xii a lot. Plus the G7X is a BEAST in low light, which is always a good feature in a Vlog camera.
If you are interested in any of the Camera Gear I Usually use or the Mavic Pro I use as my drone, you can go to the following Amazon links. If you purchase anything after going through this link, it helps support the channel by giving us a few shekels and it doesn't cost you a thing extra.

Scuba Diving the Seamounts of Cayos Cochinos with Roatan Divers
Scuba diving the seamounts of Cayos Cochinos near Roatan, Honduras.
Roatan Divers is currently running special trips out to the seamounts near Cayos Cochinos during the calm season! The current was strong on this dive, but subsequently there were loads schools of fish out feeding, and it was absolutely beautiful! We found big schools of Atlantic spadefish, big-eye jacks, southern sennets, creole wrasse, and black durgon! We even got a free-swimming juvenile nurse shark!
For more information about the Cayos Cochinos seamounts trip, contact info@roatandiver.com.

Cozumel is known in the scuba diving industry as one of the best scuba diving locations in the world. Every dive is a scuba divers dream. Teaming with schools of fish and boasting amazing view, Cozumel offers the avid scuba diver a vast playground. Cozumel is the Mexican Caribbean's largest island, just 12 miles off the coast of the Yucatan Peninsula. Cozumel is 28 miles / 9 meters long and 10 miles / 2 meters wide. Located near Cancun; Cozumel is an island destination for scuba divers and non scuba divers alike. Although it is a divers mecca, even after decades as a popular vacation resort, it remains a serene, quiet and undiscovered piece of paradise. The climate is subtropical.

Bonaire | Scuba Diving
Here’s my video collage or reef report from a scuba trip to Bonaire. Bonaire’s entire coastline has been declared a marine sanctuary. During my visit I observed an abundance of fish species such as few varieties of Parrot Fish, Angel Fish, Sergeant Majors, Scrawled File Fish, Jacks, Eels, Seahorse and many more.
One thing that stands out at (1:24) and (1:39) are fish munching on algae, coral and rocks. You can hear them bite into the coral which sounds pretty cool.
I shot this using a Gopro 4 Silver with a Backscatter Filter and a Sealife video strobe.
