Seashore Trolley Museum
On vacation in Maine 1991 I stopped by the Seashore Trolley Museum in Arundel, Near Kennebunkport just to check it out. Although not a trolley fan I tried to capture the flavor of the place with a quick video. They even have a couple of structures from Boston elevated lines. There is an amazing amount of equipment stored all over the place in various stages of restoration. It would take a very long video to do it justice. My 20 minute walk around just hits the highlights. Overall I think the museum is well done. reasonable , great gift shop and rides.

Seashore Trolley Museum
On August 1, 2016, I visited the Seashore Trolley Museum in Kennebunkport, Maine. This is the largest transit museum in the US.
I rode aboard Connecticut Company #1160. 1160 served on the streetcar system of New Haven, CT until 1948. It was acquired by (what was to become) the museum that same year. The car was built by the John Stephenson Company in North Elizabeth, NJ in 1906.
I also stopped by the restoration shop to take a look at some cars currently undergoing restoration, including an NJT PCC and a car that Theodore Roosevelt rode in.
In addition, I take a look at some already restored but not in service (on that specific day) cars in one of the 2 car barns.
If you are going to Maine (or at least going close to the southeastern portion of the state), I recommend that you should stop here.
The collection is amazing. Riding one of these beautifully restored cars is a treat.

Seashore Trolley Museum, Kennebunkport, Maine.
The Seashore Trolley Museum was founded in 1939 with one open trolley car, No. 31 from the Biddeford & Saco Railroad Company. Over the years thousands of members have followed the founding fathers by helping the Museum grow to be the premier electric railway museum in the world.
Today, our collection contains over 250 transit vehicles, most of them trolleys, from all over the United States, Canada, and many other countries. We are the oldest, and largest electric railway museum in the world.
