Seaton is a small seaside town in East Devon on the south coast of England. It faces onto Lyme Bay, to the west of the mouth of the River Axe with red cliffs to one side and white cliffs on the other. Axmouth and Beer are nearby.
A sea wall provides access to the mostly shingle beach stretching for about a mile, and a small harbour. Seaton sits on the 96-mile (155 km) long Dorset and East Devon Coast World Heritage Site, more commonly known as the Jurassic Coast. From here it is possible to visit rock strata dating from three geological periods in a 185 million-year ‘geological walk through time’.
Seaton was an important port for several centuries, supplying ships and sailors for Edward I's wars against Scotland and France. In the 14th century heavy storms caused a landslip which partially blocked the estuary, and the shingle bank started to build up. In 1868 the arrival of the railway reduced the use of the harbour.
Seaton was served by a branch line, opened in 1886, from Seaton Junction on the Salisbury to Exeter main line. The railway was successful and considerably assisted in the development of Seaton as a holiday destination. Seaton and Beer became the two most popular holiday destinations in East Devon. Part of the trackbed has been used to construct the Seaton Tramway to Colyton, a tourist attraction.
In the 19th century Seaton developed as a holiday resort, which it remains to this day. Seaton lost its largest holiday camp at the beginning of 2009 when the site was purchased by Tesco who opened a major supermarket on the site in late 2011. However, Seaton still has many accommodation providers including guest houses, hotels, a camping site and a caravan park. The church on the edge of town was built in the 14th century, with a squat tower dating from the 15th century. Seaton is also notable for having one of the world's first concrete bridges, built over the River Axe in 1877, by the Seaton and Beer Railway company.
The Seaton Tramway takes visitors across country to Colyford and Colyton. It runs alongside the estuary giving views of the nature reserve on one side and the estuary wildlife on the other. At Beer, about two miles west of Seaton, is the Beer Heights Light Railway; along with numerous model railways this is part of Pecorama, a tourist attraction provided by the model railway manufacturer Peco. On 26 March 2016 the Seaton Jurassic visitor centre opened in the town which is a time travelling experience telling the story of the natural heritage of the Jurassic Coast past and present.

A walk through Holyford Woods, Seaton, East Devon UK
This is a track featured on my CD published in 2016 Piano et Yoga. The slideshow are my photographs taken in Holyford Woods, Seaton, Devon, on one walk, on one day, in early Autumn. These natural woods are so beautiful, and I hope that this video enables those who aren't able to walk through these lovely woods, to enjoy the natural beauty.
The CD is available from New World Music, Amazon, iTunes, etc.

Seaton Tramway runs beside the river Axe estuary giving access to two nature reserves, The Seaton Marshes and Colyford Common. Bird Watching trips being just one of the Seaton Electric Tramway’s specialities being run by experts from the Axe Vale & District Conservation Society who know the estuary well.
There are currently 14 Trams running to the gauge of 2ft. 9ins. (838mm). They are of different scales of vehicle varying from half scale to two thirds but also with a few at full size but modified to run on 2ft. 9ins.
A Seaton Tramway visit has long since matured into a thoroughly interesting day out, with plenty of interest for both the dedicated tram enthusiast and hobbyist while being simply just great with families and children.
Narrow Gauge Railway enthusiasts and Streetcar (that’s for our American Fans that are watching), should also consider a visit as it is a great day out for everyone!
I wish to thank John the Driver and all the staff that assisted me in the making of this video as without all their enthusiasm and help this video would simply not have been possible.
Oh! . . . Just a tip . . It’s worth buying the day ticket and getting there early, as when you have been up and down once, you just want to go again, and again . . .

Sefton Coast
The Sefton Coast lies between the estuaries of the Mersey and Ribble in north-west England. The sand dunes, beaches and marshes of the Sefton Coast are one of the most important areas for nature conservation in Europe. The Sefton Coast is also an important visitor destination with popular bathing beaches, open countryside, and the seaside resort of Southport.
The photos were took in a field trip, which is a course in the Department of Planning and Landscape of University Manchester. Professor John Handley was teaching student about the specific topography of sand dune system and relative conservation works. More information please see:
Little Egret Cuckmere Haven 2010
A short video of a Little Egret on the river bank at Cuckmere Haven in East Sussex on Monday 19th April 2010. The RSPB state the following; The little egret is a small white heron with attractive white plumes on crest, back and chest, black legs and bill and yellow feet. It first appeared in the UK in significant numbers in 1989 and first bred in Dorset in 1996. Its colonization followed naturally from a range expansion intro western and northern France in previous decades. It is now at home on numerous south coast sites, both as a breeding species and as a winter visitor. It is included on the Amber List as rare breeding species. It is most common along the south and east coasts of England, and in Wales. The estuaries of Devon and Cornwall; Poole Harbour and Chichester Harbour hold some of the largest concentrations and they are also common in East Anglia. They are an increasingly common sight in inland areas too and are gradually increasing their range northwards here. For more information on this bird visit the following;
