Some Sevit or also known as the Floating islands are artificial islands located on the Han River on the south end of the Jamsu and Banpo Bridge. It was originally completed in 2011 named Floating Island but was later renamed “Some Sevit” when it official opened in 2014.
Some Sevit is made up by 3 islands called Gavit, Chavit and Solvit. Around the floating islands are LED lights that look amazing at night. These islands were made to resemble different phases of a blooming flower.
Each island has its own characteristics:
Gavit – The largest island of the three, it looks like a flower in full bloom. It houses a Convention Hall, CNN café, Italian restaurant and a pub with great views of the Hangang River. There is also a Roof Garden Observatory; it is a great place to catch some of the best night views and city back drop.
Chavit – This Island resembles a flower bud. There is an observation deck on the 1st floor which you can take to the Moonlight Rainbow Fountain. On the 2nd floor there is a buffet restaurant called Chavit Cuisine.
Solvit – This Island is form like a seed of a flower. It offers many water leisure facilities in the Han River.
Yevit – This Island is like a floating media art gallery where you can feast your eyes on a variety of visual content.

Address: 683, Olympic-daero, Seocho-gu, Seoul
Subway: Express Bus Terminal Station (Seoul Subway Line 3,7 or 9), Exit 8-1.
Go straight for 250m, and turn right at the Express Bus Terminal 4-way intersection.
Continue going straight for 400m and cross the road.
Go straight through the underpass to arrive at Banpo Hangang Park.
Bus: 143, 401, 405, 406 or 8340 and get off at Banpo Hangang Park.

Sebitseom is a cultural complex built to be a landmark on the Han River in the heart of downtown Seoul, a place where you can enjoy special cultural contents at the water’s edge. It is the world’s first floating structure with buildings that can float on water. Sebitseom consists of three glowing islands that brighten the Han River gloriously, along with Yevit, a place that screens a variety of video clips and contents.

This is my video diary for week 4 in Korea.
July 20 and July 21 were literally the two best days, I've had in a very long time. I couldn't film everything (even though I wish I could) but the atmosphere those days were just magical.
This week I had my midterm exam, I ate delicious food and went all cultural with MMCA and Gyeongbokgung Palace 경복궁.
I chilled at Sebitseom 세빛섬 with Raman, seriously enjoyed the street performers in Hongdae 홍대, and I looooved to be cooled down with the ice skating. Also, the Seoul Bamdokkaebi Night Market at Oil Tank Culture Park’s ‘Forest Picnic Market’ was AMAZING. I mean, look at my drink... it's a light bulb!!!

Some Sevit is a culture complex made up of three man-made floating islands located near the southern end of Banpo Bridge. The islands were created with the theme of flowers of the Hangang River and represent the view, life, and the earth, as well as a flower in various stages of life. The largest island, 'Some Gavit' symbolizes the view and takes the form of a flower in full bloom. It is a multi-functional cultural facility which can be used as a venue for performances, international conferences, exhibitions and more. The second island, 'Some Chavit' looks like a flower bud, an image of life. A range of cultural experiences and event zones including Beat Square, Youth Woods and restaurants using 3D to bring themes to life are located here. The third and smallest island, 'Some Solvit' takes the form of a seed planted in the earth. This island has water sports facilities and an outdoor garden from which you may enjoy the picturesque scenery of the Hangang River. Around the floating islands are LED lights that create a fantastic night view under the theme of a gleaming light in the mist.

Insa-dong is a long street in the Seoul downtown where you can traditional souveniers Korean souvenirs and in my opinion the only place where you can buy a postcard (엽서)
If you want to bring some Korean presents back home, then this is the place you must visit.
