Diverse marine life and hundreds of Red Sea coral reef sites make Sharm El Sheikh a magnet for divers and eco-tourists. The tourist economy of this Sinai Peninsula city has grown quite rapidly over the last few decades, resulting in an upcrop of first-class resorts and posh nightlife. The waters of Ras Mohamed National Park are abundant with schools of fish and, oddly, toilets – thanks to the bathroom fixtures being transported by a cargo ship that sank during a 1981 storm.
Sharm el-Sheikh (Arabic: شرم الشيخ, IPA: [ˈʃɑɾm eʃˈʃeːx]) is a city situated on the southern tip of the Sinai Peninsula, in South Sinai Governorate, Egypt, on the coastal strip along the Red Sea. Its population is approximately 73,000 as of 2015. Sharm el-Sheikh is the administrative hub of Egypt's South Sinai Governorate, which includes the smaller coastal towns of Dahab and Nuweiba as well as the mountainous interior, St. Catherine's Monastery and Mount Sinai. It is now a holiday resort and significant centre for tourism in Egypt.
Sharm el-Sheikh was formerly a port, but commercial shipping has been greatly reduced as the result of strict environmental laws introduced in the 1990s.[citation needed] Until 1982, there was only a military port in Sharm el-Sheikh, on the northern part of Marsa Bareka. The civilian port development started in the mid-1980s, when the Sharem-al-Maya Bay became the city's main yacht and service port.[citation needed]
Sharm el-Sheikh's major industry is foreign and domestic tourism, owing to its dramatic landscape, year-round dry climate with long hot summers and warm winters as well as long stretches of natural beaches. Its waters are clear and calm for most of the year[citation needed] and have become popular for various watersports, particularly recreational scuba diving and snorkeling. There is great scope for scientific tourism with diversity in marine life species; 250 different coral reefs and 1000 species of fish.[citation needed]
These natural resources, together with its proximity to European tourism markets, have stimulated the rapid growth of tourism that the region is currently experiencing. The total number of resorts increased from three in 1982 to ninety-one in 2000. Guest nights also increased in that period of time from sixteen thousand to 5.1 million. Companies that have been attracted to invest in this city include Hyatt Regency, Accor, Marriott, Le Méridien, Four Seasons, and Ritz-Carlton, with categories of three to five stars. In 2007, the area saw the opening of its first aqua park hotel resort. The four-star Aqua Blu Sharm Resort was built on the Ras Om El Seid, with an area of 133,905 square metres (1,441,340 sq ft).
Sharm is also the home of a congress center, located along Peace Road, where many international political and economic meetings have been held, including peace conferences, ministerial meetings, world bank meetings, and Arab League meetings.[citation needed] The Maritim Sharm el-Sheikh International Congress Centre can host events and congresses for up to 4,700 participants.
The nightlife of Sharm El-Sheikh is modern and developed. The colorful handicraft stands of the local Bedouin culture are a popular attraction.[citation needed] Ras Mohammed, at the southernmost tip of the peninsula, has been designated a national park, serving to protect the area's wildlife as well as its natural landscape, shoreline and coral reef. A number of international hotels and noted restaurants are clustered around the centre of Sharm, known as Naama Bay, with golf courses and other leisure facilities further up the coast.
The Nabq Managed Resource Protected Area is a 600-square-kilometre (230 sq mi) area of mangroves, coral reefs, fertile dunes, birds and wildlife.[11][12]
Nationals from the EU and the US do not require a visa for travel to Sharm El Sheikh if the visit is for fourteen days or less, although those travelling outside the Sinai area may still require a visa, which is purchasable for a small fee on arrival. It is mandatory for all travellers arriving at Sharm El Sheikh International Airport to complete a landing card (handed out by the crew on flight), and on departing to complete an exiting card (handed out at check-in) before passing through passport control.[13] Visitors must be aware that upon first entering the airport after landing, they will most likely be ushered into a queue to buy a visa.
Foreign visitors may consider reading about Egyptian cultural norms in order to prevent any trouble or breaking of local Egyptian laws. Individuals may also note Egypt's cultural and legal views of L

Secret proposal video in Egypt Sharm El-Sheikh Soho Square
Made half this video in secret prior to our holiday to Egypt. The other half done in secret on holiday. Sadly due to copy right was unable to use the track I wanted. The first half starts with holiday photos and then the second half shows me visiting my fiancée's childhood beach, that her Nan took her too regularly. Sadly Henny isn't around so I made her part of this the best I could. I then visited her dad to get permission the traditional way. The video was presented to her in Egypt, Sharm El-Sheikh, Soho square 05/07/15.

Sharm El Sheikh Travel Guide - An Egyptian Paradise
Sharm El Sheikh Travel Guide - An Egyptian Paradise
Sharm el-Sheikh (شرم الشيخ, also translated as Sharm ash Shaykh and popularly known simply as Sharm) is a well-known port and resort town at the southern tip of the Sinai Peninsula in Egypt, popular with package holiday makers and divers. About 9,000 English tourists are in Sharm on any given day. Numbers have doubled in the last 3 years and seem set to continue to rise despite the worldwide economic situation.
Sharm el-Sheikh is sometimes called the City of Peace, referring to the large number of international peace conferences that have been held there. Sharm el-Sheikh is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the Arab world. But there are also some very good reasons to visit it if you are not the common tourist, who likes to lie on the beach all day. It is one of the finest diving spots in the world and a trip into the desert is an unforgettable adventure.
Sharm El-Sheikh has an arid climate, generally warm and dry, although summer months can be humid. The best times to go to Sharm el-Sheikh, for swimming and diving, are the month of April, and from mid-October to mid-November. Na'ama Bay part of the city is the center of nightlife and dining: most of Sharm's clubs, cafes, restaurants and shops are here. Sharm el Sheikh has grown into three distinct areas now, Nabq is a new area to the North of Na'ama, Old Market and Hadaba to the South of Na'amaa Bay.
Nabq Bay Nabq Bay is on a promontory overlooking the Straits of Tiran at the mouth of the Gulf of Aqaba. Sharm el-Sheikh city has been subdivided into five areas, namely Nabq Bay, Ras Nasrani, Naama Bay, Umm Sid, and Sharm El Maya. Together with Hay el Nour, Hadaba, Rowaysat, Montazah and Shark's Bay, it forms a metropolitan area of 42 square kilometres.
A visit to the desert is highly recommended. Various trips to the Bedouins, the beautiful Coloured Canyon and beyond to Mount Sinai. The more adventurous should try to find a private guide, who takes them for a few days into the mountain desert with a camel. You will walk through hidden valleys, rest at secret oasis and during the night you sleep under a breathtaking firmament. Nabq National Park is a great experience with beaches completely deserted and beautiful mangroves. A complete contrast to the resort. An unusual sight and a bit exotic for a westerner are huge fans pumping fresh air to street cafes and terraces near hotels.
Diving is the main activity in Sharm el-Sheikh. When you dive into the warm water of the Red Sea and leave the remote desert behind, you will enter a world full of life and colours. Best and most comfortable way to explore the magnificiant undersea world of the Red Sea is snorkeling. Discover incredible landscapes by jeep, camel or simply trekking with friendly and hospitable Bedouin guides. The Sinai desert is amazingly beautiful and varied. The famous Mt Sinai and St Catherine's Monastery are not to be missed as well as many spectacular canyons. It is strongly recommended to go to the desert with a responsible operator employing Bedouin and respecting the environment.
A lot to see in Sharm El Sheikh such as :

Cleo Park
El Fanar Beach

The Heavenly Cathedral
Saint Catherine's Monastery
Safari Sharm El-sheikh
Porto Sharm

Most hotels in Sharm, particularly in the Na'ama Bay area cater for package tourists. There are mostly 3-6 star all-inclusive hotels and there are very few (if any) budget options. Others are quite far from Naama Bay, so you either are tied to their all-included ration, or need to pay for taxi for every dinner in Naama (although taxi is inexpensive from most of hotels).
( Sharm El Sheikh - Egypt ) is well know as a tourist destination because of the variety of places you can enjoy while you are visiting Sharm El Sheikh. Through a series of videos we will try to show you recommended places to visit in Sharm El Sheikh - Egypt

Diving on wreck of SS Thistlegorm, Sharm Al-Sheikh, Egypt...
The SS Thistlegorm was a British armed Merchant Navy ship built in 1940. She was sunk on 6 October 1941 near Ras Muhammad in the Red Sea and is now a well known diving site. During World War II, two German Heinkel He 111 aircraft of II Staffeln, dropped two bombs on the Thistlegorm. The bomb and the explosion of some of the ammunition stored in hold 4 led to the sinking of the Thistlegorm with the loss of four sailors and five members of the Royal Navy gun crew. Most of the cargo remained within the ship, the major exception being the steam locomotives from the deck cargo which were blown off to either side of the wreck.

How To and How Not To Travel Across Egypt || Cairo to Sharm El Sheikh
One thing that we have some major experience in is how to move about from place to place! Although, sometimes travel doesn’t always go the easiest way…
In this video we will be going over travel safety in Egypt and what your travel transportations options are!
From our time in Egypt we can honestly say that we never came across any dangerous situations or felt unsafe. On our bus ride from Cairo to Sharm El Sheikh we were stopped frequently at police check points, searched and verified with our passports. This did not scare us as much as it helped us to believe we were in an area that was doing its part to keep it safe. Egypt is culture rich country with a lot to offer and if you’re a history buff, this is the place for you! Many times were we welcomed by the locals and were told they were glad we were there.
