La Festa Major de Manresa ja té programa
El concert de Dr.Prats serà una de les cites destacades d'un programa que es desenvoluparà entre el 24 d'agost i el 2 de setembre, i que, com ja és tradicional, començarà amb el CorreAigua, i acabarà amb el CorreFoc.
El Concert de la Festa Major de Manresa torna al centre de la ciutat i es farà després del Castell de focs.
La música manté el seu paper fonamental, i com a novetat d’enguany, el concert més important, amb el grup Doctor Prats, serà el diumenge a la plaça Sant Domènec, que tornarà a ser l’espai que centralitzarà el nombre de concerts, a diferencia de l’any passat que es va fer al Polígon dels Dolors.
La Festa Major de Manresa torna del 24 d’agost al 2 de setembre amb una àmplia i variada oferta d’activitats lúdiques i culturals. La festa manresana manté la seva essència que combina propostes innovadores amb actes tradicionals.
Una vegada més començarà amb el CorreAigua i acabarà amb el correfoc, i incrementa les activitats adreçades al públic familiar i les Visites a la Manresa Desconeguda. A més, estrena empresa de pirotècnia pel castell de focs del parc de l'Agulla, que tindrà veu de dona.
Es realitzaran 45.000 programes que es bustiaran per totes les llars de la ciutat a principis del més d'agost. A més, s’incrementa la difusió del programa de mà dels quals se’n faran 15.000 (pràcticament quadruplicant la quantitat de l'any passat).
La festa major d’enguany incorpora al BBVA com a patrocinador principal, i compta amb un pressupost de 208 mil euros, uns 30 mil menys que l’any passat, quan la ciutat era capital cultural.

Drug dealer arrested after leading officers on chase; thousands of dollars of drugs seized
A Watsonville drug dealer who led officers on a chase has been booked into county jail with a $75,000 bail.
Our officers were in the process of doing a compliance check on Pedro Magaña, a known gang member and convicted felon, when they spotted him riding a motorcycle near Bree Lane last Friday.
They attempted to stop him but the 31-year-old sped off. He was chased to the dead end of Bluff Road where he ditched his motorcycle and attempted to hide from officers.
However, Magaña didn’t realize he had gone down a very steep hillside. When officers found him, they quickly pulled him up to safety.
The Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Drone Team was called to the scene to help our officers search for a backpack that Magaña was wearing during the pursuit. The drone was able to find the backpack down the rugged terrain. One of our officers climbed down the steep ravine to get the backpack. More than 270 grams of methamphetamine and 16 grams of cocaine with a total street value of $11,500 were found inside the backpack.
Magaña was charged with being in possession of controlled substances for sale and driving on a suspended license. The motorcycle was impounded.
Prior to this arrest, Magaña had been out on bail for a domestic violence case that involved a firearm and drugs.
His next court date is scheduled for next month.

Un traficante de drogas en Watsonville que inició una persecución automovilística ha sido fichado en la cárcel del condado con una fianza de $75.000.
Oficiales estaban en el proceso de realizar un chequeo de cumplimiento a Pedro Magaña, un pandillero y criminal convicto, cuando lo vieron en un motocicleta cerca de Bree Lane el viernes pasado.
Intentaron pararlo pero el hombre de 31 años de edad se fue a toda velocidad. Lo persiguieron hasta Bluff Road, una calle cerrada, donde el sospechoso abandonó su moto e intentó esconderse de los oficiales.
Sin embargo, Magaña no se dio cuenta que había bajado por una ladera muy empinada. Cuando los oficiales lo encontraron, rápidamente lo auxiliaron.
Alguaciles de la Oficina del Sheriff del Condado de Santa Cruz llegaron a la escena con un vehículo no tripulado, más bien conocido como un drone, para ayudar a nuestros oficiales localizar la mochila que Magaña llevaba puesta durante la persecución. El drone logró encontrar la mochila en el terreno escabroso. Uno de nuestros oficiales tuvo que bajar el barranco para agarrar la mochila. Dentro de la mochila, encontraron más de 270 gramos de metanfetamina y 16 gramos de cocaína con un valor de $11.500.
Magaña enfrenta cargos por posesión de sustancias controladas para la venta y por manejar con una licencia suspendida. La moto fue incautada.
Antes de este arresto, Magaña había estado en libertado bajo fianza por un caso de violencia doméstica que involucraba un arma de fuego y drogas.
Magaña estará de regreso en una sala de corte el próximo mes.

¿Y si el Seat 600 volviese a la vida?
Todo parece indicar que, con las cada vez más estrictas normativas anticontaminación, los modelos de combustión tienen los días contados. Y esa norma será aplicable a cualquier modelo, incluso aquellos que tienen un gran valor histórico. Pero puede que haya una solución.
Ésta pasaría por la reconversión de dichos modelos en coches eléctricos. Y mientras que ya hay marcas trabajando en ello para volver a ‘resucitar’ a modelos del pasado -como es el caso de Aston Martin con su DB6 Volante o Jaguar con el E Type-, otras iniciativas son más particulares, pero igual de interesantes.
Es el caso de un grupo de 12 estudiantes del colegio San Patricio, que para la asignatura de ‘Tecnología Industrial’, se les ocurrió la brillante idea de restaurar un Seat 600 de gasolina y convertirlo en un coche eléctrico. Y este ha sido el resultado después de 150 horas de trabajo.

Message: The film reflects about how obsessions can trap our souls and how people fight to escape them.
Synopsis: A girl contemplates a framed photograph of a volcanic landscape . The artwork gradually captures her until she appears inside of it. Once there the animal atmosphere inside the landscape will start to absorb the girl´s personality. She will try to escape from the landscape but the landscape becomes a prison. The rest of the film shows that delicate exchange between being and not being in the thing she is obsessed with, living more inside that outside, the photograph becoming the only thing that is mostly present in her mind but also the small cracks on the landscape that somewhere remain open showing the path back to balance and peace of mind.
Trivia: Ideami directed this film in the volcanic island of Lanzarote near Africa.
