TREKKING TO MT. RINJANI'S MYSTIFYING DANAU SEGARA ANAK
Danau Segara Anak is a volcanic lake formed in the caldera of Mount Rinjani on over 2,000 meters above sea level. The lake spans across an area of 11 square kilometers, and reaches depths up to 230 meters. Danau Segara Anak is located on the west side of Mount Rinjani in the village of Lawang Sembalun in Lombok, East Indonesia. The mystifyingly blue colour of the lake gives Segara Anak its name: Small Ocean.

Segara Anak is a crater lake contained within Mount Rinjani on the island of Lombok in Indonesia. The name Segara Anak means child of the sea given to the blue colour of the lake reminiscent of the sea.
We can go to Segara Anak Lake through by Senaru or Sembalun or Torean Village. If we start from Sembalun better we can go to submit first then go down to Segara Anak Lake. If we start from Senaru or Torean Village we can meet directly of Segara Anak Lake then stay & enjoy there one / or two night then continue submit to pick of Mount Rinjani.
Segara anak lake is really wonderful,because the lake are there in middle of the mountain, the water quite cold but fress.water is clean and lot of fish.We are spent lot of time for take swim at lake & fishing or recovering at the hot springs nearby. There's a little waterfall too if you need a cold shower.

After a day of climbing, carrying bike to the top, we decide to spend a night at lake banks, Its Lake Segara Anak, 3 hours of walking down, and there you go...
Fishing is a must, if you want to eat protein, plenty of carp, grill it, and boom, your dinner is served.

We set camp just beside the Segara Anak (Child of the Sea) Lake. Scenery was fantastic. Gunung Barujari could be seen in the video but unfortunately, it is partially blocked by a tree. Just 5 minutes walk away, is the hot spring which many trekkers and locals would soak in. It is said by the locals that before a major operation, they would soak themselves in it and the operation would be a success.

Segara Anak Lake is so wide it appears like the sea with is Blue Water. The name Segara Anak means Child of the Sea. Segara Anak Lake hold various mysteries and invisible powers. People feel content to stay a long time on this place, because of the large community of mysterious spirits which live around the lake. The local people believe that if the Lake looks wide when seen at a distance it is a sign they will live to an old age; or if the lake seems narrow it is a sign of short age.
At 3.726 m, Mt. Rinjani is the second highest Volcanic peak in Indonesia and is a part of celebrate Ring of Fire. Forested slopes rising directly from the sea create their own weather pattern and act is the main water-catchments for the island of Lombok. Gunung Rinjani National Park lies within a major bio-geographical transition zone (Wallaceae), where the flora and fauna of South East Asia meets that of Australasia.
The National Park, one of ever 40 throughout Indonesia, was established in 1997. For the people of Lombok, Sasak and Balinese like, Mt. Rinjani as sacred place and abode of deities. The Crater Lake is a pilgrimage destination for tens of thousands each year. Pilgrims place of Rims in the water and bathe away ailments in the Hot Springs. For visitor, the three days Rinjani Trek route from Senaru to the Crater Rim, down to Crater Lake then on to Sembaun Lawang, is considered one of the best trek in South East Asia.

Sebuah kehormatan untuk saya mengantarkan bapak begal @firman_ujang menuju puncak 7 Summit Indonesia yang pertama untuk beliau yaitu Gunung Rinjani dengan ketinggian 3726 mdpl.
Kami memulai perjalanan menggunakan pesawat dari Jakarta (CGK) ke Lombok (LOP), perjalanan diikuti oleh sekitar 11 orang peserta open trip dari IME @indonesiamatexpedition dan juga 3 porter yang membantu kami menjelajah gunung Rinjani.
