Durban Moses Mabhida Arch - Ford EcoSport
Where in South Africa can you travel to the top of a sports Stadium? Durban of course.
Our iconic Stadium situated right in the middle of town was built for the 2010 Soccer World Cup and stands proud in Durban.
We caught the SkyCar to the highest point of the arch of the Moses Mabhida Stadium. It takes two minutes to reach the top of the arch. We were amazed at the 360 degree view of the entire city from the top, we could see from Umhlanga all the way to the Bluff and all the landmarks in between.
There are numerous activities around the Stadium and is always buzzing. Hire a bike, go on a Segway Gliding tour, choose a Stadium tour or take a walk up the other side of the arch to the very top on an Adventure Walk. Sounds like hard work to us. You can also do the Big Rush Big Swing and jump off the arch which is 106m above the pitch.....eeek!
Sometimes the wind causes havoc and the SkyCar doesn't operate, so instead of driving all the way there to be turned away, we used SYNC to call the information centre at the Stadium and check it was operating that day. Clever little thing isn't she?
Things to do in Durban

Durban, a coastal city in eastern South Africa’s KwaZulu-Natal province, is known for its African, Indian and colonial influences. Refurbished for soccer’s 2010 World Cup, the seafront promenade runs from uShaka Marine World, a huge theme park with an aquarium, to the futuristic Moses Mabhida Stadium. The Durban Botanical Gardens showcases African plant species.

Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.
Learning by listening is a great way to:
- increases imagination and understanding
- improves your listening skills
- improves your own spoken accent
- learn while on the move
- reduce eye strain
Now learn the vast amount of general knowledge available on Wikipedia through audio (audio article). You could even learn subconsciously by playing the audio while you are sleeping! If you are planning to listen a lot, you could try using a bone conduction headphone, or a standard speaker instead of an earphone.

SUMMARY
=======
Durban (Zulu: eThekwini, from itheku meaning bay/lagoon) is the third most populous city in South Africa—after Johannesburg and Cape Town—and the largest city in the South African province of KwaZulu-Natal. Located on the east coast of South Africa, Durban is famous for being the busiest port in the country. It is also seen as one of the major centres of tourism because of the city's warm subtropical climate and extensive beaches. Durban forms part of the eThekwini Metropolitan Municipality, which includes neighboring towns and has a population of about 3.44 million, making the combined municipality one of the biggest cities on the Indian Ocean coast of the African continent. It is also the second most important manufacturing hub in South Africa after Johannesburg. In 2015, Durban was recognised as one of the New7Wonders Cities (along with Vigan, Doha, La Paz, Havana, Beirut, and Kuala Lumpur). The city was heavily hit by flooding over 4 days from 18 April 2019, leading to 70 deaths and R650 000 000 in damage. Durban was recently named the new darling of South Africa due to its all year round warm weather, long stretches of beaches, traditional cuisine, lively markets, world class hotels and arts districts.
