The best concert hall in Korea is the Grand Theater of Sejong Center in Gwanghwamun, Seoul. Every musician wants to perform at this venue with excellent acoustics. However, only musicians strictly selected by the center can perform concerts here.
The most expensive concert among Korean pop musicians is Kim Dong-ryul, neither BTS nor Cho Yong-pil, nor Psy. Nevertheless, it is highly competitive to buy tickets for his concert.
On the first day of the Kim Dong-ryul concert scheduled for 8 times, I visited the Grand Theater of Sejong Center.

【4K】광화문광장 Gwanghwamun Square walk in Seoul ????????
On August 1st, 2009, the redesigned Gwanghwamun Square opened to the public. With the inauguration of the square, Sejong-ro, located at the center of the 600-year-old historic city of Seoul, was transformed into a human-centered space that harmonizes with the beautiful scenery of Gyeongbokgung Palace and Bukaksan Mountain.
The close to 20,000m2 Gwanghwamun Square is located at the center of Sejong-ro which connects Gwanghwamun Gate and Cheonggye Square. The square is divided into the sections, “Recovering the History of Gwanghwamun Gate Plaza,” “Reenacting Yukjo Street Plaza,” “Korea Main Plaza,” “Civil Participation Urban Culture Plaza,” “Downtown Plaza” and “Cheonggyecheon Stream Connector.”
The “Recovering the History of Gwanghwamun Gate Plaza” section is at the entrance of the plaza, where a stone base called Woldae and a statue of Haetae, a mythical unicorn-lion that is said to protect palaces from fire, have been restored. Near Sejong-ro Park is “Reenacting Yukjo Street Plaza” where Yukjo Street, the main street of old Seoul (Formally known as Hanyang) was recreated. On the side is also a miniature depiction of Yukjo Street.
The Statue of King Sejong the Great has been relocated in the “Korea Main Plaza” where Hangeul, the Korean alphabet, is projected on a fountain water screen. Between the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts and the Statue of Admiral Yi Sun-Shin is the “Civil Participation Urban Culture Plaza” with a range of attractions and services including accommodation facilities for visitors, exhibition halls, elevators, a meeting plaza, and art galleries.
“Downtown Plaza,” located near the Statue of Admiral Yi Sun-Shin, symbolizes Sejong-ro. The Square has water facilities such as a pond and pop-jet fountains. The “Cheonggyecheon Stream Connector” functions as a connecting walking path between Cheonggyecheon Stream and Gyeongbokgung Palace.
In addition, there is the “Memorial Waterway”, flowing underground water, which goes from both Gyeongbokgung and Gwanghwamun subway stations to Cheonggyecheon Stream. Plus, behind the Statue of Admiral Yi Sun-Shin is “Sunken Square” which connects Gwanghwamun subway station and the ground allowing people to access the Square more easily.
Two statues of Admiral Yi Sun-Shin and Sejong the Great, who are great and influential people in Korean history, are situated at Gwanghwamun Square where the beatification ceremony will take place. Visitors can see “Waterways of History” and “King Sejong Story” exhibitions, the latter of which highlights the achievements of King Sejong and history of Hangeul.

Walking from Cheonggyecheon Stream (청계천) to Gwanghwamun Square (청계광장) in Seoul, South Korea 【4K】????????
Cheonggyecheon Stream (청계천) runs through downtown Seoul from the Cheonggye Plaza (청계광장) in Gwanghwamun to Yangnyeong Market, where it connects with a larger stream before merging with the Hangang River. It was originally a natural stream since the Joseon Dynasty, but it was buried under an overpass until 2005 when it was restored as part of an urban renewal project. Today, it serves as a pleasant place for relaxation and enjoyment with plenty of attractions, eateries, and activities nearby. A great number of events are held at the plaza as well as along the stream throughout the year.
Gwanghwamun Square (광화문광장) is located on Sejong-daero, a major business district in Seoul. This large square host various events and ceremonies. Statues of King Sejong the Great, the creator of hangeul (Korean Alphabet), and Admiral Yi Sun-sin, the creator of the Geobukseon (warship also known as the Turtle Ship), stand in this plaza. An underground exhibition hall houses the King Sejong Hangeul Museum and the Admiral Yi Sun-sin Hall.

2017 Administrative City Sejong Introduction
Sejong City
Located in the heart of South Korea—about 120 km (75 miles) south of Seoul, Sejong was conceived to relieve overcrowding in Seoul and promote balanced regional economic development. In addition to relocating South Korea's federal ministries and other executive offices from Seoul to Sejong, the South Korean government designated Sejong as a center of research, education, and high-tech industry.
With financial and investment support, Sejong will attract corporations from across the globe. Sejong is 2 hours away from South Korea's major cities and close to airports and ports that connect it to the world. With green spaces more than half of the city area and a forward thinking energy policy, Sejong will be one of the world's greenest cities.
To build Sejong, the South Korean government established a new government agency, the Multifunctional Administrative City Construction Agency (MACCA) in 2006. Later in 2010, the National Assembly passed a bill allowing establishment of the self-governing city government by 2012. The first residential area in Sejong will be completed by the end of 2011, and the federal ministries and offices will relocate to Sejong from 2012 to 2014. Sejong's population is expected to reach 500,000 by 2030.

[Secret Korea - Seoul] Ep. 26 Sejong Village / YTN (Yes! Top News)
Mt.Bugaksan and Mt.Inwangsan embrace the northern part of Seoul.
And below is Sejong Village that boasts its 600 years of history.
My name is Gregory Defraize and I am a French chef based in Seoul.
Whenever I want to feel the warmth of Seoul,
I head to Sejong Village next to Gyeongbokgung Palace.
In alleys of Sejong Village, some culture and art spaces remain
pretty much the same as what it looked like in the old days.
From a single-floor Hanok who’s workspace still retains its old looks
from which you can feel its original owner's artistic touch,
To a two-story mansion reborn into an art museum
through a harmony of eastern and western styles of architecture,
And lastly an old inn that has transformed into
a new form of exhibition space,
Sejong Village’s old spaces and buildings are remaining
with their charm and grace.
Tongin Market, in the heart of Sejong Village, is,
A place I never miss out whenever I visit there.
There’s a special way to purchase food in the market
by using Korea's traditional coins used hundreds of years ago.
You can add a little bit of everything to make your very own lunch box.
This lunch box filled with generosity of the traditional market
will remain as a precious memory for me.
By the time dusk creeps in, Sejong Village’s alleys become quite crowded.
This alley is called 'Food Culture Street',
a representative tourist attraction in the village.
The stores along the narrow alleys greet visitors with delicious food.
Here is where the old encounters the new.
I will cherish Sejong Village and its friendly atmosphere deep in my heart.

Gwanghwamun, King Sejong and Lee Sunshin Statues - Travel in Seoul, Korea by Mercene Travel
Gwanghwamun is the beautiful gate that is the main gate to Gyeongbokgung Palace. It is the largest and most beautiful gate and leading up to the gate, there are a few more statues commemorating the achievements of famous Koreans.
The first statue is of King Sejong along with a few statues of inventions that happened under his reign. They call him King Sejong the great because of all the advancements in so many areas that happened under his reign.
In front of Sejong there is a statue of admiral Lee Sunshin who was responsible for winning several battles that eventually lead to removing the Japanese after they invaded Korea in the late 1500s. This man won several battles, went to jail for treason under a plot the Japanese devised to bring him down and eventually ended up giving his life trying to end the invasion.

Gwanghwamun South Korea

Hello youtube friend, this time we take a trip to one of the famous places in South Korea, namely in the Gwanghwamun area.
Gwanghwamun is a gate located in Seoul, South Korea, which was founded in 1395. Gwanghwamun Gate stands in front of Gyeongbok Palace and has experienced a long period of damage and destruction. This place is known as the center of Seoul.
This place also stands firmly on a statue of King Sejong.
King Sejong, also called Sejong King the Great (Sejong Dae Wang) (May 7, 1397 - May 18, 1450, enthroned 1418 - 1450) was the 4th king of the Joseon Dynasty who ruled Korea. King Sejong was very well known for his services in creating the Korean alphabet, Hangeul which replaced the use of Hanja writing. King Sejong was the second Korean ruler to get the title of the Great King or Great King after King Gwanggaeto of the Goguryeo Kingdom.
Don't forget to subcribe, comment and turn on the bells so that I don't miss the next video trip
Sejong Center and Seoul Arts Center celebrate milestone anniversaries
Sejong Center and Seoul Arts Center celebrate milestone anniversaries
The Sejong Center and Seoul Arts Center are celebrating milestone anniversaries this year with performances by internationally acclaimed artists. This year marks the 40th anniversary of the Sejong Arts Center, which has seen some 62 million people attend its shows since opening in 1978. It was the only classical music and performance venue in Seoul until the opening of the Seoul Arts Center in 1988 in time for the Seoul Olympics. The Sejong Arts Center has hosted numerous international and local performances, including the first by the Berlin Philharmonic in Korea in 1984 and the Stuttgart Ballet with ballerina Kang Seu-jin in 2002.Starting on April 26, the Seoul Metropolitan Opera will perform its “Turandot” -- Giacomo Puccini’s last opera which premiered in 1926 -- at the Sejong Grand Theater. From May 9 to 15, Sejong Center will hold its weeklong “Sejong Art Festa,” which will comprise performances organized by Seoul Metropolitan Art Groups as well as exhibitions and outdoor activities. The duet concert “Diva & Divo,” featuring acclaimed Korean soprano Jo Su-mi and tenor Roberto Alagna, will take place on May 31. The Munich Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by world-renowned Russian conductor Valery Gergiev, will present works by Mahler and Prokofiev on Nov. 22. Korean pianist Sunwoo Ye-kwon, the gold medal winner of the 2017 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, will perform with the orchestra. Starting on July 17, the Sejong Center will hold the first large-scale exhibition of the French painter Edgar Degas in Asia. Some 100 pieces, ranging from paintings and drawings to sculptures and photos, have been curated by a former head of the Louvre Museum, the center said. Meanwhile, the Seoul Arts Center in southern Seoul has a series of performances lined up to celebrate its milestone, beginning with a 30th-anniversary concert on Feb. 13 featuring the violinist Sarah Chang and 17 other string musicians who will perform popular classical music, such as Verdi’s “Four Seasons” and Piazzolla’s “The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires.” On Sept. 12, pianist Cho Seong-jin, the winner of the 2015 Chopin International Piano Competition, and internationally acclaimed violinist Chung Kyung-wha will take to the stage in a duo recital.Other performances to watch out for at the Seoul Arts Center include the Nederlands Dans Theater 1, led by artistic director Paul Lightfoot, which will perform for three days, starting on Oct. 19. Russian theater director Yuriy Butusov’s production of “A Doll’s House,” featuring Korean actors will run from Nov. 6-25.

How foreigners in S. Korea study Korean
외국인들이 직접 알려주는 한국어 배우는 노하우
Today, we turn our focus to culture
And to explain what's going on in South Korea right now, we have our Won Jung-hwan in the studio for us.
Jung-hwan, what do you have for us today?
So Mark, before I go any further, how good is your Korean? And where and how do you practice it?
Wow that's pretty good Mark.
In fact, it is not so common yet,... but when I go around Seoul, I sometimes spot foreign visitors speaking the Korean language quite fluently.
Well nowadays, I could proudly say more and more foreigners are getting used to the language before they even come here,... thanks to the huge popularity of Korean culture and television dramas overseas.
But I always wondered,… how those foreigners study the language.
Indeed, to get a closer look into how foreigners do it, I went to the Korean Language Education Center at Seoul National University.
The institute was established in 1969 and aims to teach Korean language and culture to international students, intending to learn Korean language as a foreign language or their second language.
Over 28-thousand students from more than 90 countries have graduated from the programs laid out by the institute,... and the program invites some 5-hundred students every semester from overseas.
I had a chance to peak in on the class,… I first asked them what's the most difficult thing about learning Korean.
I always get confused because there's a big difference between English and Korean. When I write a sentence, the two languages have different structures. If I keep practicing, I think I can get better.
I am good at taking speaking exams, but it's really hard when I actually speak with Korean local people.
But despite their difficulties in learning Korean, more non-Koreans are studying Korean academically nowadays.
As for real classrooms, some 57-thousand students are studying at over 1-hundred-70 branches of the government-backed King Sejong Institute, from Nairobi to Minsk and from London to Tokyo.
Further evidence of the language’s popularity can be found in the number of takers of the Test for Proficiency in Korean.
A total of some 260-thousand people took the TOPIK in 2018,... up 77 percent from 2010.
In fact, the number of such students has been growing sharply over the past few years to the point where some are saying the number of foreign Korean literature & language students is similar to locals.
Experts explain the phenomenon has resulted from the increasing number of foreign nationals who want to become Korean language specialists.
And of course, this is thanks to the extra attention South Korea and its culture have been receiving from abroad.
So the answer is,… I should attend one of those classes to be really good at the Korean language?
Well maybe. But talking with those native-like foreigners that I recently encountered,… studying at language centers isn't always the answer for being perfect.
Indeed, the group of students I met told me that academic way of approaching didn't really help them to reach the level they are at the moment.
I followed them around to see how they study the language,... and I noticed they enjoyed using Korean,… in fact, the language was part of them at their daily lives, for instance, when they order something at a restaurant or just watching their favorite K-drama shows.
I think it's much better to study Korean by interacting with my Korean friends outside instead of studying new vocab or grammar by myself. As I am not a native speaker when I speak Korean, I make mistakes. But those mistakes can be corrected and be explained by native local speakers.
They all told me how embarrassed they were back in the days when they made mistakes speaking to locals. But each time they made mistakes, they took it as a learning process. And on top of that, even when they were watching their favorite shows in their leisure time, it was interesting to see how they tried really hard to get use to the language.
I like watching K-drams. Normally what I do is, I don't repeat but rather try to understand. If I don't understand the meaning completely, I go back and watch it again. So I think I watch 2 or 3 times for one episode. Basically until I understand everything.
