The official State Temple of Tosa, Temple 29, Kokubunji 国分寺, is one of the more magnificent Kokubunji in Japan. The main hall with its cypress thatched roof and wood paneled doors is particularly interesting. This temple is very aesthetically engaging and a pleasure to walk around. This video also provided a brief discussion of why Kokubunji were built in 8th century Japan, their connection to Emperor Shomu, smallpox, and the Daibutsu of Nara. お遍路四国八十八ヶ所 T29国分寺
