Gili Selang (Snorkling Bali)

The small Gili Selang island is located on the eastern tip of Bali. The currents are strong and you need good fins if you want to go snorkling here. It's not easy to access, but you need to go to the beach where all the boats are coming in with their evil tasks, to catch and kill fish, and later sell them.

[ Indonesia from Below ] Amed Bali - Deep Blue & Golden Rock

Penyelaman pertama kami di Deep Blue, kami turun di coral garden sedalam 5 meter, dan menyusuri slope berpasir dengan gumpalan2 coral yang luar bisa cantik menuju ke 20+ meter. Seafan begitu rimbun dan berwarna warni. Di kedalaman 15-25 meter, seperti taman dengan semak belukar, begitu banyak tumbuhan seperti semanggi bertebaran di dasar laut. Kami menemukan beberapa ekor penyu yang tidak biasa bertemu dengan manusia, baru kelihatan sudah pergi menjauh. Tidak seperti di Liberty Wreck dimana seekor penyu bisa dijadikan objek foto banyak penyelam. Penampakan Mooray Eel dan Scorpionfish juga menghiasi penyelaman ini.

Penyelaman kedua kami di sisi selatan Japanese Wreck, nama spotnya Golden Rock, namun keindahannya juga tidak kalah dengan Deep Blue. Arus sudah mulai berasa di penyelaman ini, kami mengikuti slope menuju ke kedalaman dengan mengikuti arus, dengan dasar laut yang seperti sebuah taman. Lagi lagi kami bertemu dengan penyu yang sangat pemalu, belum selesai mempersiapkan kamera, penyu tersebut sudah berenang menjauh. Di akhir penyelaman, pemandangan saat 3 menit safety stop juga sangat luar biasa, coral garden yang sangat cantik, membuat 3 menit menjadi 15 menit, untung kedalaman hanya 5 meter, setiap hisapan napas tidak terlalu boros di 5 meter. Saya sempat tersengat fire coral saat mengeluarkan DSMB, pelajaran berharga agar selalu memperhatikan sekitar.
