Selskar Abbey, Wexford
Selskar Abbey is a ruined medieval abbey in the heart of Wexford town in Ireland. It was built in the 1100s. In 1169, the first Anglo-Irish treaty was signed on the grounds of the abbey.
It is believed that King Henry II was forced to stay at the abbey in 1172 due to a bad storm.
The large tower was built during the 1300s. After the abbey was closed in the 1500s, it was used as a Protestant place of worship. This may have spared it from the same fate that other local churches suffered after Oliver Cromwell sacked the town of Wexford in 1649.
Footage was captured using a DJI Phantom 4 Advanced at 120 FPS.

Visit, Invest and Live in Wexford Town
Wexford Town sits in an attractive setting at the mouth of the River Slaney, combining narrow medieval streets and historic sites like West Gate Tower and Selskar Abbey with a thriving retail sector and lively entertainment scene.
Drone chasing young lads out of an old graveyard in Wexford, Ireland.
Was looking back on old clips of Selskar Abbey in Wexford from over a year ago when I noticed that my drone scared off a group of young teenagers who were hanging around.
I didn't even see the little gurriers at the time because I was recording in DLOG mode and it was hard to see the footage with the glare on my tablet.
Haven't a clue what they were up but you'd have to wonder why they decided to run. There was a third person with them but he didn't leave and kind of just wandered around for a few seconds.

Traceys Hotel
County Wexford is a coastal county in southeastern Ireland. The capital, Wexford town, is known for its medieval lanes and modern National Opera House. The 13th-century tollgate, West Gate Heritage Tower, is by the 12th-century Selskar Abbey. West of town, the outdoor Irish National Heritage Park re-creates eras from Irish history. On the coast, Curracloe Beach has rolling dunes. Rosslare Beach is a water sports hub. This is a video made by Wexford Based production company VmiProduction.ie Video Marketing Ireland. Traceys is a hotel based in Enniscorthy. Enniscorthy (Irish: Inis Córthaidh) is the second-largest town in County Wexford, Ireland. At the 2011 census, the population of the town and environs is 10,838.[1] The Placenames Database of Ireland[2] sheds no light on the origins of the town's name. It may refer either to the Island of Corthaidh or the Island of Rocks. With a history going back to 465, Enniscorthy is one of the longest continuously-occupied sites in Ireland. And is home to Video Marketing Ireland VmiProductions.ie. Christian O'Brien has a commercial production company here in Enniscorthy

Ishartmon church, Paradise, Co. Wexford
This video forms part of the GPS audio tour of The Norman Way cycle trail in County Wexford, Ireland:
Many people hope to make it through the Pearly Gates to Paradise in the next life, but just by passing through the graveyard gates of Ishartmon, a person has technically made it there in this one, for you are standing in the heart of the townland of Paradise no less!
It served as the parish church of Ishartmon, a name that is thought to have been derived from Disert Munna - St Munna's Church. The Ishartmon parish may have been defunct before 1615 as it does not appear on Bishop Rams visitations for that year. Munna was a somewhat conservative and curmudgeonly disciplinarian afflicted with leprosy, but with the power to read his monks' minds. While not quite the heavy hitter that minds the Pearly Gates, a full account of St. Munna's life and interesting times is in the URL link below.
The walls of this nave and chancel church, except for the north wall of the nave, have all survived complete. Some of the features to look out for are a rectangular nave window, a pointed chancel window and of course the famous double bellcote over the west gable. A number of internal features such as an aumbry, a stone shelf and a pointed chancel arch are present. Lying just inside the doorway is a circular granite font.
With three of the four main walls still intact, including the spectacular west gable wall, it is easy to visualise how this church would have looked in Norman times.

The Sack of Wexford took place in October 1649, during the Cromwellian conquest of Ireland, when the New Model Army under Oliver Cromwell took Wexford town in south-eastern Ireland. The English Parliamentarian troops broke into the town while the commander of the garrison, David Sinnot, was trying to negotiate a surrender – massacring soldiers and civilians alike.Much of the town was burned and its harbour was destroyed.Along with the Siege of Drogheda, the sack of Wexford is still remembered in Ireland as an infamous atrocity.
