FIRST DAY on BUM BUM ISLAND in SEMPORNA MALAYSIA (Sabah Malaysia Vlog)
Our FIRST DAY on BUM BUM ISLAND in SEMPORNA MALAYSIA was perfect! We met the best crew at ND Scuba and had our first dive. The dive was an introduction dive to get us acclimated, but we still managed to see a turtle! There are turtles right below the scuba house which actually stands on stilts. So far we are loving it here!

Our LAST DAY IN SEMPORNA was bitter sweet. Saying goodbye to great people is always difficult, but we were excited to RETURN TO KOTA KINABALU. Our flight from TAWAU was very easy and enjoyable. We ended up staying at the same Airbnb as the first time we visited KOTA KINABALU. It was a smooth transition and we were very excited to be back and relax for a bit after our long adventure in SEMPORNA!

After getting my new camera, we started our Kinabatangan River tour. We arrived at the lodge and settled in before going on our first cruise. We were incredibly lucky and saw pygmy elephants, hornbills, crocodiles, proboscis monkeys, and many more!

We loved our time in Kota Kinabalu, Semporna, Sipidan, Sandakan, Kudat, Sepilok, Tenom, and Kinabatangan in Sabah, Malaysia. Sabah is full of so many diverse things to do it is an adventurers dream vacation!

River Cruise on Klias River
Looking for the Proboscis Monkey in Klias River. Proboscis Monkey is endemic to Borneo. Due to its long nose and big belly, locals also call it Monyet Belanda (Holand Monkey). In this video, you will see that this monkey is also one of the best jumpers in animal kingdom.
KINABATANGAN RIVER CRUISE in BORNEO MALAYSIA (Proboscis Monkeys, Crocodiles, and Pygmy Elephants)
Our first day on the KINABATANGAN RIVER was extremely successful! We saw wild PYGMY ELEPHANTS, PROBOSCIS MONKEYS, and CROCODILES! We did a tour with River Junkies that lasts 4 days. This was our second day of the four so it is more of an introduction to the river. You will see what we found on just our first boat ride.

SAVING a HAWKSBILL TURTLE from PLASTIC in SEMPORNA MALAYSIA?? SAY WHAT! Yes, the sad reality is that off the coast of SEMPORNA there is a great deal of PLASTIC in the sea. When SCUBA DIVING we saw more trash than ever before. On our first dive, we actually saw a HAWKSBILL TURTLE eating a plastic bag, not to give anything away. Other than this, the dive was incredible. We dove around BOHEY DULANG ISLAND and we saw some very impressive wildlife including a huge school of BARRACUDAS. Our company ND Divers hooked it up with a private tour where us two were the only divers in the area!

I never realised how much there is to see and do on the 3rd largest island in the world. But this place has it all: jungles, remote beaches and crystal clear waters!
We relaxed on the beaches of remote North Borneo Biostation, spotted Orangutans in the Kinabatangan jungles, and stayed in a house on stilts in the middle of the ocean!
