Kubota Castle (久保田城 Kubota-jō) is a Japanese castle in the city Akita, Akita Prefecture, Japan. Throughout the Edo period, Kubota Castle was home to the Satake clan, daimyō of Kubota Domain, rulers of northern Dewa Province. The castle was also known as Yadome-jō (矢留城) or Kuzune-jō (葛根城). In the official documents of the Tokugawa shogunate, the castle was called Akita-jō (秋田城), although this name is now more commonly used to refer to the Nara period fortified settlement of Akita Castle which was nearby.
Akita (秋田市 Akita-shi, Japanese: [aꜜki̥ta]) is the capital city of Akita Prefecture, Japan, and has been designated a core city since 1 April 1997.
The city, which covers an area of 906.09 square kilometres (349.84 sq mi), had an estimated population of 314,662 in October 2016, giving a population density of 347 persons per km2.
The area of present-day Akita was part of ancient Dewa Province, and has been inhabited for thousands of years. The Jizōden ruins within the city limits are a major archaeological site with artifacts from the Japanese Paleolithic period through the Jōmon and Yayoi periods. During the Nara period, the Yamato court established Akita Castle in 733 AD to bring the local Emishi tribes under its control. The area was ruled by a succession of local samurai clans in the Sengoku period, before coming under the control of the Satake clan of Kubota Domain during the Edo period. Under the Tokugawa shogunate, a castle town developed around Kubota Castle.

Sadly I didn't manage to get out with my camera when it was really snowy but the leaves were beautiful and in the snow, it looked great too. Senshu Park is the site of where Kubota castle is, which originally was built in 1602, unfortunately it is not an original castle as the first one was destroyed in a fire. The park features a few shrines, about 800 cherry trees, statues, and beautiful views of the city of Akita. This is a wonderful way to spend half a day while in Akita and it is very affordable as the only cost is to go inside the castle (￥100).

秋田県秋田市にある千秋公園は、春の桜やつつじ、初夏のお堀に浮かぶハスの花が綺麗な事で有名です。また秋田駅から徒歩約10分で行けることから多くの観光客が訪れます。公園内には、お茶室や料亭、神社などがあり、周辺には美術館もあるので色々と楽しむことができます。
Senshu Park is a famous sightseeing spot in Akita city. Located just minutes away from Akita station.
This park was created on the site of Kubota Castle which was once the castle of Satake clan of Akita.
Around 800 cherry trees and azaleas in spring, and lotus flowers on the moat in early summer are spectacular sight. Also, historic treasures as the status of Yoshiaki Satake, the twelfth lord, a room for tea ceremony, and a couple of shrines are seen in the park.

Onsen are one of my most favorite things on the face of the earth, and this one was absolutely mind-blowing. Set in the mountains near Tazawako, this place is a hidden paradise with one of the oldest and most famous natural hot spring's in all of Japan. People come from everywhere to visit, although the resort only hosts about 16 people per day. The winter season is particularly known for the mix of the hot spring water and the cold air and surrounding snow that just makes the feeling indescribable.
This is my first video of places near where I am now living in Japan, but I hope to explore some more and share my findings.

Quick note, the best part of the onsen is actually the outdoor part, but due to it being a group bath, obviously I was not able to take any video, it's a shame because it's really beautiful too.
