This is Sentosa Boardwalk, it's a boardwalk that connects Vivo City Shopping Mall to Sentosa Island in Singapore.
Vivo City is Singapore's largest shopping mall that has 5 levels and 340 stores.
Sentosa is a resort island in Singapore, which is home to Tanjong Beach, Palawan Beach & the popular Siloso Beach.
The resort island also has 2 golf course, 14 hotels, Resort World Sentosa, Universal Studios Singapore & 2 casinos.
It approximately a 15-20 min walk to Sentosa Island from Vivo City. Or you can just catch the Sentosa Express Monorail.

On 16 March 2005, the monorail service was discontinued to make way for the new Sentosa Express, which commenced operations on 15 January 2007.[8] An environmental assessment conducted by the government of Singapore concluded that the construction of an integrated resort on Sentosa would result in a high likelihood of high scale biodiversity loss, habitat destruction, soil erosion and climate change, as well as several other destructive ecological impacts. Therefore, over two hundred trees and plants from the area that was to be cleared for the construction of the resorts were replanted elsewhere on the island to minimize negative environmental impact.[9] In 2009, construction of a new foot bridge began. The S$70 million Sentosa Boardwalk includes themed gardens, shops and eateries. There are covered walkways and travellators along the boardwalk for rainy days.[10] The Boardwalk, officially opened by Singapore's Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean on 29 January 2011, provides visitors with an alternative mode of travel to reach the island.[11] Sentosa Boardwalk, designed by Aedas, was named Best Leisure Architecture in Asia Pacific and 5* Best Leisure Architecture in Singapore, at this year's Asia Pacific Property Awards.
Visitors can also access the island via the Sentosa Boardwalk which is parallel to the causeway (which opened on 29 January 2011). The first two days of its opening were marked with free entry into Sentosa for visitors who walk, and subsequently a SGD 1 admission fee into Sentosa is charged. From 7 June 2014 to 4 January 2015, walk-in entry into Sentosa via the Sentosa Boardwalk is free on weekends and public holidays. Walk-in entry is also free for SG50 weekend. The Sentosa Boardwalk hosts frequent bazaars on weekends.

The Sentosa Boardwalk has installed moving walkways to save your tired feet. Furthermore, it is sheltered. So, you don’t need to expose to sunlight and also give you walk to Universal Studios Singapore with comfort.

Time Required (one-way) = Sentosa Boardwalk to USS
= 12 minutes
You’re free to take the Sentosa Express Monorail inside the Sentosa Island.
Including, free to ride the monorail back to Singapore from the Sentosa Island.
The charges of monorail fare SGD $4 only apply to visitors who wish to transfer from VivoCity Station to Sentosa Island.
If you walk to Sentosa Island via Sentosa Boardwalk, then you don’t need to pay the monorail fare SGD $4.
But, you can use the monorail inside the island including going back to Singapore with free of charge.

How to enter Sentosa Island for FREE
You can enter Sentosa Island for free if you go on foot. There is a scenic walkway called the Sentosa Boardwalk which starts right outside the VivoCity shopping centre. VivoCity is right above the HarbourFront MRT Station, which is served by the North East and Circle Lines.
The Sentosa Boardwalk is roughly 600m long. You can either walk in the open, or follow the covered walkway, which is equipped with travellators. I decided to use the covered walkway because it started raining quite heavily. Fortunately, the rain stopped by the time I walked through the entrance gates which were left wide open for visitors.
Once I have gone through the gates, I followed the signs and walked past the Malaysian Food Street before arriving outside the Casino and Universal Studios. There was a large spinning Universal logo there. It's been a long day, and I am getting hungry, so let's eat!

You can now travel into Sentosa on foot via the Sentosa Boardwalk. It’s a leisurely stroll from VivoCity Shopping Mall’s waterfront promenade, made easy by two-way canopy-covered travellators. Guests are encouraged to leave their cars behind on mainland Singapore and take the MRT to HarbourFront station at VivoCity Shopping Mall, before making their way to the Sentosa Boardwalk.
The latest additional mode of access into Sentosa, the Sentosa Boardwalk is set to excite with a new dimension of the Sentosa Experience, while enhancing the seamless accessibility and connectivity between the island and the mainland.
The iconic gateway is also the first garden-themed boardwalk in Southeast Asia to feature tropical landscapes which are indigenous to Singapore.

The Sentosa Boardwalk is a pedestrian walkway from Vivo City that leads to Sentosa. It is open 24 hours a day, is sheltered and equipped with walkalators. You have to get to VivoCity first, which is a huge shopping mall, from Harbourfront MRT station.

Sentosa Island is Singapore's Biggest Playground which is home to Universal Studio's Singapore, Resorts, Casino, Theme Parks, Siloso Beach, and many more fun activities.
Sentosa Island is a must visit if you are visiting Singapore. There's is plenty of things to do and see, or just relax by the beach.
It is only a short walk from Vivo City, Singapore's largest shopping mall.
There are several ways to get from Vico City to Sentosa Island. You can get to the island by road, monorail, cable car or via the boardwalk. Which is my favorite because not only is it free, but you also get to enjoy the scenic view along the way.
Walking to Sentosa Island from Vivo City will take you approx. 15 mins to walk.
So be sure to visit Singapore's Biggest Playground - Sentosa Island is you are planning to go to Singapore. It's a MUST VISIT.
