Seokguram Grotto UNESCO site Gyeongju South Korea
Seokguram Grotto is a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site in Gyeongju in South Korea. The grotto is constructed from huge granite blocks and contains the Buddha looking out over the East Sea. You can come across little squirrels on the winding gravel track from the Entrance Gate to the Grotto. A free guide will tell you about the Grotto in English. Seokguram Grotto and Bulguksa Temple (UNESCO/NHK)
Established in the 8th century on the slopes of Mount Toham, the Seokguram Grotto contains a monumental statue of the Buddha looking at the sea in the bhumisparsha mudra position. With the surrounding portrayals of gods, Bodhisattvas and disciples, all realistically and delicately sculpted in high and low relief, it is considered a masterpiece of Buddhist art in the Far East. Bulbuksa Temple & Seokguram Grotto Gyeongju Korea
El Bulguksa es un templo budista en Gyeongju, en Corea del Sur, antigua capital del reino de Silla. En este templo se encuentran siete tesoros nacionales de Corea, incluidas las pagodas de Dabotap y Seokgatap, el Cheongun-gyo (puente de la Nube Azul) y dos estatuas de buda de bronce bañado en oro. El templo está considerado una obra maestra del apogeo del budismo en el Reino de Silla.
El Bulguksa era un pequeño templo que el rey Beop-heung, erigió para rezar por la prosperidad y la paz de su reinado. Actualmente el templo se encuentra en el mismo estado que el año 1251, cuando fue restaurado.

Gyeongju: Korea's Golden Age of Culture
We take a spiritual journey south east of Seoul and across the Korean peninsula to discover the old capital city of Gyeongju. From 57 BCE to 935 CE, the area was ruled by the Silla dynasty. Designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site Gyeongju displays superb archaeological and historical treasures and is often referred to as the museum without walls. We feature the Seokguram Grotto and the Bulguksa Temple with its sculpture of the stone Buddha, one of the most highly regarded pieces of Buddhist Art. We were privileged to explore the excavations at the Royal Tumuli, the world's oldest observatory, and the remains of palaces and exquisite 6th century Buddhist temples. Korea Travel Vlog | Exploring Gyeongju UNESCO World Heritage Sites
Historic Gyeongju is the perfect travel destination for those who want to get off the beaten path in Korea. The city has a rich history that dates back over 2,000 years ago.
We decided to spend our 1st day in Busan exploring the beautiful Gyeongju. We booked a whole day tour package through KLOOK for 70,000 KRW per person with an english guide and a tour bus. I must say, Gyeongju is a place that has so much to offer. There is a lot of UNESCO World Heritage Sites that you can see and explore. If you have at least a week in Korea, i would highly suggest to take this tour and you will learn so much about the history in Korea.

Niezwykly Swiat - Korea Południowa - Gyeongju - Seokguram Grotto
Świątynia buddyjska w skalnej grocie w okolicach miasta Gyeongju w Korei Południowej, w 1995 roku wraz z pobliską świątynią Bulguksa wpisana na listę światowego dziedzictwa UNESCO jako jeden z pierwszych obiektów w kraju. Powstanie świątyni datuje się na VIII wiek n.e. Składa się z dwóch pomieszczeń – prostokątnego i okrągłego. We wnętrzu znajduje się się posąg Buddy mierzący 2,5 metra wysokości. Ściany groty pokryte są reliefami figuralnymi.

Today we’re exploring Gyeongju, South Korea! In the last video we went from Busan, South Korea to Gyeongju by bus! Busan travel is unique, beautiful and yummy! I had always wanted to make it to Gyeongju and hope to go back to see Gyeongju cherry blossoms! Spring in South Korea is so incredibly beautiful.
I went to Seokguram 석굴암, Bulguksa 불국사, Donggung Palace & Wolji Pond 동궁과 월지 & Cheomseongdae Observatory 첨성대. The history in Gyeongju and Gyeongju travel makes it a great trip to take when you’re in South Korea!
