Prepare to step into a world of forested beauty when you arrive at Seoraksan National Park.
Located in Gangwon-do, South Korea, Seoraksan National Park tours are popular with both residents of Korea and international travelers. It is a frequent destination for those staying in nearby Sokcho, a city renowned for its natural hot springs and mountainous surroundings. Seoraksan National Park’s 63 square miles are largely untouched by humans, so it’s easy to immerse yourself in the quiet beauty of nature.
Your Seoraksan National Park sightseeing begins at the park gates, where a towering bronze statue of Buddha awaits you. Take some pictures or place an offering at his feet, and then head into the park proper. It invites you to spend hours wandering along the many paths that wind through the park, crossing streams and winding beneath a canopy that might be thick with green or red leaves, depending on the season. You can even take a gondola ride to the top of the mountain. From the gondola—which is enclosed and climate-controlled—you can see all of Seoraksan National Park, so this is the place to grab some of those gorgeous landscape pictures to post on your social media.

HIKING in SOUTH KOREA - things got CRAZY! (Seoraksan National Park) | Vlog 095
We jump from Koh Tao to Sokcho in South Korea after a few weeks off from (almost) daily vlogging.
From Sokcho we head to Seoraksan National Park (via a terrifying bus journey) to hike up to the top of Ulsanbawi Rock which turns out to be a lot more eventful than we had originally thought...

Let's go to... Seoraksan National Park in South Korea!
It was too cold and icy to make the trek up Seoraksan's most famous peak, so we decided to take the gondola to the top of one of the lesser peaks in the park.
South Korea: Seoraksan National Park
Seoraksan is the most famous and beautiful national park in South Korea. It is located near the town of Sokcho in the northeast of teh country facing the Sea of Japan. It has been designated as a Biosphere Protection Site by the Unesco. It is characterised by oddly shaped rock formation, dense forest and waterfalls and mountain streams.
The video shows first a general view of the mountains in a cloudy day, then the Unification giant Buddha, the Sinheung-sa buddhist temple, the ascent to the Ulsan Bawi rock cliff through a metal staircase, ant finally the Yukdam Pokpo and Biryong Pokpo waterfall.

Journey to Sokcho and Seoraksan in South Korea
BEAUTIFUL Seoraksan National Park, KOREA (WeWillNomad)
The Seoraksan National Park is both immense in its beauty and size! With a reserve area of 163.6 square kilometres, it was the first Korean national park to be named under the National Park Law in 1970.
There are numerous trails and paths throughout the park of varying distance and difficulty, so you will definitely find something suitable to enjoy. If you are not up for hiking, you can walk around the lower park area to see the enormous Bronze Statue of Seated Buddha and the Sinheungsa Temple or even just relax with a meal, snack or drink at one the restaurants. You can also take the Seoraksan Cable Car up to Gwongeumseong Fortress Station, but note that from there you still need to climb a fair number of stairs to the actual Fortress.
Depending on the time of year and weather conditions, certain areas and trails may be off-limits to the public, so check the online information before you go. If you really want to make the most of this area, you can easily spend multiple days hiking!
We started by taking the Cable Car up to Gwongeumseong Fortress. The ride itself is very quick and not very exciting. From the top station, you follow a stepped path up to the actual Fortress which is really not much more than a few stacked rocks, so don't have high expectations of that. The view however from this area is absolutely stunning! You can walk around quite freely on the large rocks and look out at the sea to the one side and towards Ulsanbawi Rock on the other side. One can easily while away more time than expected in this small area!
From the top station, there is another path leading downwards towards Anlakam Hermitage. Although it is not far, we really didn't find it worthwhile and would recommend spending your time elsewhere in the park.
After returning by Cable Car (there is no alternative way down!), we set off along the Biseondae Hiking Route. The route is only 3km long and they suggest that it will take just under 1 hour. NOTE that all route designations are ONE WAY and you will still need to return! The route was a fairly comfortable and easy hike and mostly shaded by large trees. As the route winds alongside a rocky river, there are a few places where you can make your way into the river to cool down in the crystal clear rock pools or picnic on a big rock as we managed to do. Once you reach the small suspension bridge at the very impressive Biseondae Rock, you will have the choice of either returning of continuing for a further 600m (estimated additional 1-hour hike one way) up continuous and strenuous steps to the Geumgangguk Grotto.
It was getting late so we did not continue but rather chose to watch a few crazy climbers scaling vertical rock faces and then we made our way back to lower ground to visit the Bronze Statue of Seated Buddha and Sinheungsa Temple before catching a bus back to Sokcho.

HIKING IN SOUTH KOREA! | SEORAKSAN NATIONAL PARK | 설악산
Hey Everyone! Today we're headed to Ulsanbawi, Seoraksan National Park in South Korea! This park is located just outside of Sokcho (about a 40 minute local bus ride) This is one of my favorite parks in Korea.
Seoul can be a little overwhelming (like any big city) sometimes so it is nice to be able to get out of the city and into nature. Seoraksan in winter is a bit cold but absolutely worth it! Hiking is a big activity in South Korea and this park is one of the major places people do it!
Hope you enjoy this vlog and that you get to this national park someday!
Thanks for watching!

How to get to Seoraksan National Park
Seoraksan National Park is three hours by car from Seoul, making it a very doable day trip. Public transport is a little trickier but still possible — you can take a bus from the Seoul Express Bus terminal or Dong Seoul terminal or Incheon Bus Terminal to to Sokcho city, which should take you approximately four hours (including a 20-minute rest stop in the middle). From Sokcho, you can take local bus number 7 or 7-1 to Outer Seorak (Oeseorak), which will take approximately 30 minutes.

Mount Seorak - Ride Cable Car | Korea Trip #3 Cherry Blossom
Welcome to my new Vlog in Seoul. One of Korea Tourist Attraction is visiting Mount Seorak. I will ride cable car and watch cherry blossom in autumn
Mount Seorak (Seoraksan) also referred to as Seolsan and Seolbongsan, the mountain was named Seorak ('Seol' meaning 'snow' and 'Ak' meaning 'big mountain') because the snow would not melt for a long time keeping the rocks in a permanent state of white.
The park is spread across 4 cities and counties: Sokcho, Inje, Goseong and Yangyang. The highest peak is Daecheongbong; to the east is OeSeorak and to the west is NaeSeorak, which is divided again into North NaeSeorak and South NaeSeorak. North NaeSeorak is composed of Bukcheon, which flows to Ingyecheon and Baekdamcheon streams. There are numerous valleys in NaeSeorak. Follow the Baekdamcheon valley where all the streams meet and you will reach Baekdamsa Temple, which is known for its beautiful scenery. Upstream there is Gayadong valley and Suryeomdong valley, and past Yeongsiam and Mangyeongdae there is Madeungryeong ridge (1,327m) that leads to Seorakdong.
Riding up and down the cable car, visitors can view the fascinating rock formations of the Gwongeumseong region as well as the Sogongwon area, Jeohangnyeong, and Ulsanbawi Rock to the north. To the northeast, downtown Sokcho and the East Sea comes into view.
After getting off the cable car, visitors can take a 20 to 30 minute hike to Gwongeumseong to get a birds-eye-view of Oe-Serok. The cable car ascends at a relatively high speed with some excitement
