In which Chaewon and Jihei finally meet, we eat amazing Korean buckwheat noodles, eat a huge amount of ice cream in mere minutes, I almost get run over my a scooter, we go to an escape room, laugh a ton, and I tell you the truth with how I am feeling about leaving Korea so soon. SEOUL 2018: Stylenanda Cafe in Hongdae, Barbie Cafe in Dongdaemun &, KDRAMA SCENE IN REAL LIFE!!

like this video for all the eaten strawberries. I'm pretty sure I am a strawberry at this point.

Went to JW marriott in Dongdaemun for their barbie strawberry buffet that's happening right now. Ate a lot of strawberries, fruit is pretty expensive and rare so I took advantage haha. Everyone was dressed so elegant and pretty and we were just two fools at our table causing a mess.

In Hongdae, I went to Aori Ramen because my friend recommended it to me a while ago, it's really good! I highly recommend going to try them out, I heard they have multiple locations around Asia so definitely go if you can. Then, I went to the StyleNanda pink room cafe that i've seen all over social media and YouTube. I've been wanting to go for the longest time and I finally got to. All the pink and pretty colors make me so happy n___n.

Ended the day in Hongdae doing my favorite thing in the entire world, which is an escape room. If you guys are looking for escape rooms in Seoul, Seoul Escape Rooms is one of the most popular escape rooms, they have english and really well thought out rooms and story lines. I HIGHLY recommend their rooms. I've done almost all of them.

Seoul Trip 2018: Hongdae

Hongdae is another place in Seoul that becomes even more lively at night. It definitely attracts a younger crowd with cheap fast-fashion clothing, bags, and accessories.

Come here to experience the South Korean youth culture and stock up on Korean beauty and Korean fashion.

There's also singing and dancing street performances. Lots of food options, with cheap eats as well. So you can fill your tummy with lots of good Korean food, such as Korean bbq!

There’s just too much excitement during our first day in Korea! Unfortunately, the rain poured hard but it will not stop us!

Fun Saturday afternoon/evening with friends. Tried an escape room for the first time ever. I'm glad I wasn't as useless as I thought I'd be. Ha.

Attended an Open Mic event in the first time since college. Makes me want to write again.

And celebrated Canada Day by going to an International Pub and not drinking. Darn you anti-biotics.

Hotel Skypark Myeongdong I + Seoul Travel Tips

Hotel Skypark Myeongdong I room tour & some travel trips that I found helpful when traveling to Seoul, South Korea as an American:

- rent wifi egg at the Incheon airport for unlimited internet access for multiple devices

- airport bus is the best compromise between the desirable speed/efficiency of a taxi and the price of bus/subway

- exchange the majority of your money near where you're staying in Seoul (like Myeongdong) for better exchange rates

- purchase T-money cards and refill at the nearest 7-Eleven for easy public transportation

- stay at a hotel in heart of Seoul so that you're within walking distance of attractions (like Myeongdong), can quickly drop off your heavy shopping haul, and save time + transportation money to see more of the city

A few notes on Hotel Skypark Myeongdong 1:

I’m always outside whenever I travel, so this budget-friendly hotel is perfect for me. Do note that I’m about 5 feet 2 inches, and my sister and I felt a bit cramped in the standard double room.

We also only brought 2 carry on suitcases and our backpacks, so you might feel really cramped with more or larger suitcases. I also stayed in a standard double room in 2017, but it had more walking/carpet space.

The ceilings are quite low according to U.S. standards, but I was comfortable at 5 feet 2 inches. By approximation, I think that anyone over 5 feet 8 inches will likely bump their head into the ceiling/structures.
