Dear brothers and sisters, this Easter too, we cannot help turning to the Golgotha and the Great Friday of our Kosovo and Metohija, the he blackened minds of all those who take upon themselves the right, by violating the international law, to judge in cold blood not only about changing the status of Kosovo and Metohija but also of our entire history, culture and the statehood. The Golgotha of the Serb people in Kosovo has lasted for centuries, which is well known to all but those who have chosen to be blind to truth and deaf to listening to justice.

STORYLINE:
The head of Serbia's Orthodox Church linked the status of Kosovo into his Easter message this week.
Serbian Orthodox Patriarch Pavle described Kosovo's possible independence as a suffering for the Serbs.
He said blackened minds want to change the status of Kosovo, our whole history, culture and the statehood.
On Thursday Kosovo's parliament overwhelmingly endorsed a UN plan that proposes internationally supervised independence from Serbia.
The UN plan needs to be approved by the UN Security Council to take effect.
Serb nationalists consider the southern province the cradle of their medieval state and religion.
The Serbian Orthodox Church has its seat in Kosovo's town of Pec, as well as numerous medieval monasteries and churches in the province.
Christian Serbs meanwhile shopped for Easter eggs in Belgrade's markets on Thursday.
Traditionally, Serbians colour eggs on Good Friday - known as Great Friday in Serbia.
Kosovo has been under UN and NATO administration since a 78-day NATO-led air war that halted a Serb crackdown on ethnic Albanian separatists in 1999.
Kosovo's Serbs, who have boycotted Kosovo's public institutions, have warned of secession of the Serb-dominated north if Kosovo gains independence.

Serbia has been traditionally a Christiancountry since the Christianization of Serbs by Clement of Ohrid and Saint Naum in the 9th century. The dominant confession is Eastern Orthodoxy of the Serbian Orthodox Church. During the Ottoman rule of the Balkans, Sunni Islam established itself in the territories of Serbia, mainly in southern regions of Raška(or Sandžak) and Preševo Valley, as well as in the disputed territory of Kosovo and Metohija. The Catholic Church has roots in the country since the presence of Hungarians in Vojvodina (mainly in the northern part of the province), while Protestantism arrived in the 18th and 19th century with the settlement of Slovaks in Vojvodina
Islam is mostly present in the southwest of Serbia in the region of Sandžak or Raška(notably in the city of Novi Pazar and municipalities of Tutin and Sjenica), as well as in parts of southern Serbia (municipalities of Preševo and Bujanovac). Ethnic groups whose members are mostly adherents of Islam are: Bosniaks, Muslims by nationality, Albanians, and Gorani. A significant number of Roma people are also adherents of Islam.
Adherents belong to one of two communities – Islamic Community of Serbia or the Islamic Community in Serbia.
As of 2011, out of 787 declared Jews in Serbia 578 stated their religion as Judaism, mostly in the cities of Belgrade (286), Novi Sad (84), Subotica (75) and Pančevo (31).[4]The only remaining functioning synagogue in Serbia is the Belgrade Synagogue. There are also small numbers of Jews in Zrenjanin and Sombor, with isolated families scattered throughout the rest of Serbia.

Head of the Serbian Orthodox Church Patriarch Irinej led the Christmas Day liturgy at the temple of Saint Sava in Belgrade on Tuesday. The liturgy was attended by hundreds of worshippers.
Belgrade's Mayor Zoran Radojicic, the president's Secretary Nikola Selakovic and Catholic Archbishop of Belgrade Stanislav Hocevar also attended the event, where they were joined by Crown Prince of Yugoslavia Alexander and Princess Katherine.
Christmas is celebrated on January 7 in Serbia, according to the Julian calendar. Orthodox Christmas is also celebrated by worshippers in Russia, Georgia, Bulgaria and Macedonia, among other countries.

ASB donations for Syrian refugees in Serbia
Since the outburst of refugee crisis in Serbia, the German organization ASB has been taking constant efforts, focusing primarily on the northern part of the country and the Serbian-Hungarian borderline area, namely the city of Subotica and the municipality of Kanjiza. Daily contact with the respective institutions, primarily with refugee shelters, as well as with the national authorities in charge of migration issues, has enabled ASB to identify most urgent needs of the refugees and provide the best possible solutions.
In accordance to that, ASB has donated 250 000 Euros of its own funds, providing the necessary help to the refugees in Serbia and FYR of Macedonia.

We are very excited to invite everyone to please watch the full coverage of our Traditional Serbian Etno Wedding on RTRS - a national TV! ???? It will be aired on Orthodox Christmas Day, 7th of January 2020, RTRS Christmas Special (evening show). Big thanks to RTRS for the 4th time of featuring our family. We are truly grateful and honored for another big opportunity to inspire others and share our story. For now, here’s a glimpse of the preparations that we had and behind the scenes of our church wedding last October 6, 2019 held in Palackovci Monastery Church, a national heritage site.
Just like our civil wedding and beach garden wedding in the Philippines, our church wedding had no lavish reception and no grand ceremony. We only had a simple but very intimate ceremony, celebrated with our closest family and friends. We did everything on our own. We prepared the food, decorated our wedding venue reception (just in our home) and most of our family and neighbors offered help in any way they can. We planned it as simple as possible but memorable one with the blessing of both our families. Our wedding was a fruit of pure love, team work and all out support of our dear family and friends. We set up a tent, family and neighbors helped in decorating it. Slaven and father roasted the pig, mother cooked the goulash, our kuma baked the wedding cake and did my hair & make up, our friends brought more cakes as gift, our cousins served the food and drinks, our aunts washed the dishes, our kum bought our wedding rings, our neighbor who is a dressmaker gave us traditional wedding clothes as gift, our neighbor is our photographer, our sound system is from our cousin, our priest and church gave us all out support, group of lovely folklore enthusiasts from two different towns came to celebrate with us (Derventa and Prnjavor), RTRS came to film our wedding for national TV coverage, our closest family and friends came to attend even though they live outside the country, my parents came all the way from Philippines, both our families are complete and everyone offered to help in any way they can. We could not ask for more! Our hearts are rejoicing for the amount of love we received. We will never forget and we are forever thankful. We both believe that it’s not about the amount of money you spend for a grandeur wedding but it is the amount of love, time, emotions you will give to your partner the whole time you will be together in your lifetime and that is more important than any party. We hope you join us in watching our wedding this Orthodox Christmas. We are truly excited to see as it is also our first time to see a glimpse of our wedding. Exploring Subotica, Serbia.....
Subotia, Serbia is the 2nd largest city in Vojvodina and the 5th largest city in Serbia with right around 100K people. This city is very diverse. The Hungarians outnumber the Serbians, but it is also home to Slovaks, Croats, and a number of other minorities. It is really interesting to walk around hearing people speaking Hungarian and reading signs that are in Hungarian and Serbian. This city is stunningly beautiful. I would rate it as the 2nd most beautiful in Serbia right behind Novi Sad.
