Pelesir kali ini gw ngacir ke suaka hewan yg namanya Serendip di bantaran Lara, sekitar 24 menit dari kota Geelong. Btw, Lara sendiri sebenernya masuk ke kecamatan Geelong soalnya gw sempet liat tugu perbatasannya.
Binatang yang berkeliaran di sini antara lain: Wallabies (kangguru kecil), burung2an, unggas2an, kadal, Emu (burung besar spt burung unta), kodok.

Serendip Sanctuary - Melbourne Australia
Serendip sanctuary, an excellent example of the open grassy woodlands and wetlands of the volcanic Western Plains, is the perfect place to learn about and experience birdlife and wetlands ecology.
See some of the 150 species of birds which breed at or visit Serendip Sanctuary from the bird hides. Birds can be seen within metres of the viewing areas preening, feeding, incubating eggs and rearing young.
The Wildlife Walk is a popular walk offering close encounters with wildlife. Meander past emus and Eastern Grey Kangaroos grazing to viewing areas, hides and flight aviaries perfect for bird watching. You may be treated to Brolgas trumpeting, Whistling Kites soaring high overhead, magnificent Yellow-billed Spoonbills wading through the shallow water, or even a glimpse of the well hidden Tawny Frogmouth as it watches you pass by.

Birds and Wallabies SERENDIP SANCTUARY in Lara
Jacob and the twins visit Serendip Sanctuary in Lara Victoria. It is a wildlife oasis in the Western Volcanic Plain, with a wide variety of native birds and mammals. A visit to the sanctuary is a learning experience for all ages and one you will never forget.
Native birds such as the Bush Stone-curlew, Brolga and Freckled Duck and native animals like the Eastern Barred Bandicoot. Birds can be seen up close from bird hides and in aviaries; preening, feeding, incubating their eggs and rearing chicks.
There are a number of short walks around Serendip that provide close encounters with wildlife. On the Wildlife Walk you might see Emus and Wallabies grazing, Brolgas trumpeting, Whistling Kites soaring overhead and Yellow-billed Spoonbills wading in shallow water.
Kids will have fun at the ponding site using dip nets to catch water bugs or maybe even a fish. They can test their bouncing skills against the resident kangaroos at the long jump pit. With so much on offer, Serendip is also an excellent place to hold a children’s birthday party.

Serendip Sanctuary - Free National park Zoo Victoria
We felt like we had the whole park to our self's that day, no one around, only animals. Its is a very nice park, like a open range zoo. Free entry.

Serendip Wildlife Sanctuary - VIC
Serendip Sanctuary is a wildlife sanctuary located near the You Yangs Regional Park 60km southwest of Melbourne. It’s a lovely place to bring the family for a walk spotting native wildlife and enjoying a picnic (there’s free sheltered electric BBQs and picnic areas). Entry to the park is free.

We go to have a look at Serendip Sanctuary in Lara, and you would not believe how many Huntsman spiders we found!! Also enjoyed the parks animals to look at. Great place for a picnic too. Just don't get too close to those trees!!
