Inner Farne 10 6 2019 with Serenity Farne Island Boat Tours
Serenity Farne Islands cruise,Northumberland,England
A visit to the Farne Islands in the breeding season July 2019
Boats sail from Seahouses to get to the Farne Islands. There are a range of different trips to choose from to suit all tastes.
The Farne Islands are a group of islands off the coast of Northumberland, England. There are between 15 and 20 islands depending on the state of the tide.[1] They are scattered about 1
1⁄2 to 4
3⁄4 miles (2.4–7.6 km) from the mainland, divided into two groups, the Inner Group and the Outer Group. The main islands in the Inner Group are Inner Farne, Knoxes Reef and the East and West Wideopens (all joined together on very low tides) and (somewhat separated) the Megstone; the main islands in the Outer Group are Staple Island, the Brownsman, North and South Wamses, Big Harcar and the Longstone. The two groups are separated by Staple Sound. The highest point, on Inner Farne, is 62 feet (19 m) above mean sea level.
The Farne Islands are associated with the story of Grace Darling and the wreck of the Forfarshire. Grace Darling was the daughter of Longstone lighthouse-keeper (one of the islands' lighthouses), William Darling, and on 7 September 1838, at the age of 22 years, she and her father rescued nine people from the wreck of the 'Forfarshire' in a strong gale and thick fog, the vessel having run aground on Harcar Rock. The story of the rescue attracted extraordinary attention throughout Britain and made Grace Darling a heroine who has gone down in British folklore
Farne Islands Wildlife
The Farne Islands and surrounding seas are an internationally important wildlife reserve. During the spring breeding season over 84,000 pairs of puffins, guillemots, razorbills, eider ducks, kittiwakes, fulmars, shags, Arctic, common and sandwich terns plus more make the various islands their temporary home. Gannets and roseate terns are regular visitors to feed in the rich seas surrounding the Farne Islands.
Throughout the year hundreds of grey seals can be seen basking on the rocks, and during the Autumn and Winter months the seal numbers swell to over 6,000 to 8,000.
Cetacean sightings are becoming more frequent too with good sightings of minke whale, harbour porpoise, bottlenose dolphins, common dolphin, white-beaked dolphin and basking sharks.

Farne Islands 26th June 2010
Road and boat trip | Farne Islands
Farne Islands are part of the National Trust of England, located in The North of England, half an hour driving from Scotland. It is a place where you can observe grey Atlantic seals and one of the biggest Puffins colonies. Unfortunately we couldn't see any Puffins as the time they spend on land is from April till late July. We knew that but still had the hope. The luck came to us when we saw the big fatty seals laying on the coast, some of them were in the water, closed enough to the boat to see us and wonder what are these strange creatures staring at them from a strange wooden thin. The best thing you can do is actually to go and see the animals in their natural habitat, not closed in ZOOs, we do not tolerate it.
Not only we chose the bad time to go there but and the weather. It was stormy and on our way back to the land was heavy raining. Must say (Maya) that the thing I am most terrified on the planet is the deep depths of the seas and the oceans and that was such a big challenge for me, as we were on a small boat, we could feel every time how a wave was taking the boat and dropping it again, straight away in our stomachs. However, it was such a good experience. Now, we feel we are ready for expedition to Antarctica and my favourite part of the travel will be Drake ????!
We travelled 10 hours from Kent area to Newcastle upon Tyne, according to Google Maps should take 6 hours + big traffic, wrong turns, coffee breaks :) We stayed at Premier Inn in Newcastle upon Tyne and drove 1 more hour to Seahouses where actually you need to take a boat to Farne Islands. You can make your booking online prior to come.
Hope you enjoyed the video! :)

Places to see in ( Seahouses - UK )
Places to see in ( Seahouses - UK )
Seahouses is a large village on the North Northumberland coast in England. Seahouses is about 20 km north of Alnwick, within the Northumberland Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Seahouses attracts many visitors, mainly from the north east area. However national and international tourists often come to Seahouses whilst visiting the Northumberland National Park, Northumberland Coast and the Farne Islands.
Seahouses also has a working fishing port, which also serves the tourist trade, being the embarkation point for visits to the Farne Islands. From shops in the town and booths along the harbour, several boat companies operate, offering various packages which may include inter alia landing on at least one Farne, seeing seals and seabirds, and hearing a commentary on the islands and the Grace Darling story or scuba diving on the many Farnes Islands wrecks. Grace Darling's brother is buried in the cemetery at North Sunderland. He died in 1903, aged 84. The current Seahouses lifeboat bears the name Grace Darling.
The Seahouses Festival is an annual cultural event which began in 1999 as a small sea shanty festival. After a significant European funding grant from the Leader+ programme, in 2005, it has grown into a more broadly based cultural celebration.
Between 1898 and 1951, Seahouses was the north-eastern terminus of the North Sunderland Railway. Independent until its final closure, it formed a standard gauge rail link between the village and Chathill Station on the East Coast Main Line (Wright, 1988). The site of Seahouses station is now the town car park and the trackbed between village and North Sunderland is a public footpath.
( Seahouses - UK ) is well know as a tourist destination because of the variety of places you can enjoy while you are visiting the city of Seahouses . Through a series of videos we will try to show you recommended places to visit in Seahouses - UK

Farne Islands 2017
The Farne Islands are a group of islands off the coast of Northumberland, England. There are between 15 and 20 islands depending on the state of the tide. They are scattered about 1½–4¾ miles (2.5–7.5 km) from the mainland, divided into two groups, the Inner Group and the Outer Group. The islands have no permanent population, the only residents being National Trust Assistant Rangers during part of the year: they live in the old pele tower on the Inner Farne (the largest and closest inshore of the islands), and the lighthouse cottage on the Brownsman in the outer group. In the warmer months the Farnes, an important wildlife habitat, are much-visited by boat trips from Seahouses. Local boats are licensed to land passengers on Inner Farne, Staple Island and the Longstone; landing on other islands is prohibited to protect the wildlife. At the right time of year, many puffins can be seen and these are very popular with visitors; on the Inner Farne, the Arctic terns nest close to the path and will attack visitors who come too close.
