RIDE TO JALORI PASS| SEROLSAR LAKE| RAGHUPUR FORT| SHOJA | Banjar valley Part -2
Hello Everyone!!
This time I will show you the beautiful & stunning Banjar Valley an Unexplored Heaven in Himachal. Banjar is also known as the 'Valley of God'. This place is the perfect weekend getaway.
Jalori Pass: Jalori Pass is positioned away from the hustle and bustle of the tedious city life. The serene ambiance rendered by mighty Himalayas presents unmatched opportunities to unwind the body and savour the nature's exquisite. The seasonal flowers bloomed in the region along with the exotic flora and fauna in the midst of immaculate solitude of highlands relaxes the senses of every trekker.
Serolsar Lake: Serolsar lake is located in Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh, at an altitude of 3,199 metres (10,496 feet) above sea level. It is surrounded by alpine forests. The water is crystal clear and local residents believe that if a leaf falls into the water, it is immediately removed by a bird. The Serolsar Lake is dedicated to Budhi Nagin, the mother of all Nag deities such as Shesh-Nag, Kamru-Nag, Mahu-Nag, Ghunda Nag and other Nag Lords of the state. There is a temple of Budhi Nagin (old snake goddess), a holy spot next to the lake.
Raghupur fort: Raghupur Fort is a historic place which is believed to be built by Mandi rulers, to protect themselves from the invasion. The trek to Raghupur Fort is a 3-km climb from Jalori Pass, through oak and rhododendron forests. The way is covered with lush green oaks and rhododendrons with great Himalayas in backdrop. We hiked for about two hours from Jalori pass to reach the Raghupur Fort top. There are ruins only but the top offers excellent views of the surrounding valleys.

MYSTERIOUS LAKE IN HIMACHAL PRADESH || SEROLSAR LAKE
Located at one of the ends of Tirthan valley in Himachal Pradesh, Serolsar Lake at 3199 meters has some interesting facts and stories associated with it.
Lake lies to the east of Jalori Pass, which is at an altitude of 3040 metres. It is an easy trail of five kms, which starts from Jalori Pass. Trekking is the only option to reach lake. It takes a maximum of 2.5 hours to cover five kms.
There is temple dedicated to Buddhi Nagin Mata near the lake. It is an ancient temple, which locals believe has been in existence even before The Pandavas. As per belief of locals, Buddhi Nagin Mata is the biggest in stature among all 60 Devtas of nearby regions.
Apart from mythological significance, there is one interesting fact associated with the lake. Even though numerous Silver Oak trees surround lake, one cannot see even a single fallen leaf on the surface of the lake. This is because of two sparrows named Aabo that reside near the lake. Locals believe that whenever a leaf falls on the surface of lake, these sparrows immediately take the leaf out. Interesting, isn’t it?
Lake’s water also has medicinal properties and locals use it for drinking purposes too.
