Uganda VLOG - Tropical Island on Lake Victoria

This has got to be in my top 5 of most beautiful places I've ever been to. After being in Entebbe, Jason and I jumped on a ferry across Lake Victoria to a cluster of islands called Ssesse Islands. We stayed on the biggest one of these - Bugala. Our hotel had a private beach and was pretty deserted. Overall, it was a great experience!

The challenges of water transport in Kalangala

The main means of transport between the 84 islands that make up Kalangala district in Lake Victoria in central Uganda, is by water. Among them all, only Bugala island can be accessed by ferry from Entebbe and Masaka. With no other option for transport, those who live on these islands encounter hardships like bad weather, high fares and over-loaded vessels.
