The Severn Bore Thursday 21st September.Chasing The Bore
Hiya folks,my previous bore videos were rooted firmly on the ground. This morning, got a chance to see a small 2 star bore near Elmore in Gloucestershire.Bore was due approx. 9.35am,always seem to be like the trains and running late, this time it was 30-35 mins later. For a change and a different perspective I took the video with my Parrot Bebop 2 quadcopter.Had some luck as the heavy rain held off ( wouldn't have flown otherwise),and also the boat which I reckon was taking surfers upriver, getting ahead of the bore,so they can surf the bore maybe at Over or Maisemore.Next one I want to see is in December which has the potential to be 2-3 feet higher than today's bore, and the biggest for the whole of 2017
Surfers ride the biggest Severn Bore in 20 years
Surfers and sea kayakers playing in the Severn Bore along the River Severn over the weekend. The high tides created what is the extremely rare Severn Bore phenomenon - meaning it becomes the site of fantastic surfing waves and one of the biggest on record for the past two decades.
Tidal surge of Severn Bore 2 Feb 2013 at Gloucester prison
The tidal surge that came with the Severn boar on Feb 2nd 2014. It was slow at first then rose very quickly. It rose about 4 feet in less than 15 minutes.

Severn Bore, Hempsted, Gloucester
Severn Bore disappointment from Over Bridge, Gloucester March 22nd 2019.
The Severn bore is a tidal bore seen on the tidal reaches of the River Severn in south western England. It is formed when the rising tide moves into the funnel-shaped Bristol Channel and Severn Estuary and the surging water forces its way upstream in a series of waves, as far as Gloucester and beyond.
After living in Gloucestershire for over 7 years and never witnessing a bore, I thought I would head out to see what I could find.
I checked the websites before I left and I read that it was a 5*.
I arrived at Over Bridge about 30 mins before it was due and was ready with my camera.
I have to say I was a little disappointed but at least I can say I've seen it now and I may even head out in the future to catch another one :-)
Thanks for watching.
The Snow Wave - Best Ever Severn Bore 2018
one of the best ever Severn bores.
Severn bore, upper section, 12th September 2018
Low river level, not too crowded. Also on were two lovely people from Tandem Surfing UK- Scott Winship and Franka Medvid and Dylan Graves (VANS Surf Teamrider) was on the wave filming for (I think) Wheird Waves with someone else. Dylan, Scott and Franka were great and it was good to chat to them afterwards. So good to see their graceful moves on the bore!
5* Severn Bore, 22 Mar 19
Crowds and surfers gather to enjoy the first five star Severn Bore of 2019 in Minsterworth, Gloucester.
The bore is a tidal wave and surge pushed up the Severn Estuary, reversing the flow of the River Severn for nearly 40miles inland. Surfers ride the leading waves before the 32ft tidal surge floods the banks.
