Compatriots, we have lived through a terrible experience. All our minds were with those in the hands of the armed terrorists. We all hoped these people would be liberated. STORYLINE:
President Vladimir Putin addressed the Russian people in a televised speech on Saturday, to praise the ending of the hostage drama in a Moscow theatre and to commiserate with those who lost relatives during the crisis.
It's reported up to 90 hostages may have been killed in the theatre early on Saturday morning, as elite Russian troops stormed the building where more than 750 people were being held captive by Chechen rebels.
Putin said the authorities had managed the impossible by saving hundreds of lives. But he also asked the forgiveness of the relatives of those the authorities could not save.
Earlier, Russian Deputy Interior Minister Vladimir Vasilyev told reporters that at least 33 Chechen gunmen had been killed. But he warned that some may have escaped the theatre, and said the hostage takers may also have accomplices still at large in Moscow.
Federal Security Service (FSB) director Nicholai Patrushev said the investigation into the hostage incident would continue.
Shortly after the Russian raid, officials said some of the estimated 50 gunmen were believed to have fled during the chaos and escaped, but Patrushev told Putin hours later that none of the captors had escaped.

Magic Island 1936 032 Submarine Heads For Johnsons Ship, Old Time Radio
Magic Island was a 12-minute syndicated sci-fi radio serial written and produced by Perry Crandall. Aired on 1936, the story was about the adventures of Mrs. Patricia Gregory to find her daughter after 14 years of being lost.
It all started when Mrs. Gregory, her husband, and her one-year old daughter named Joan traveled through the South Seas using their family’s yacht. Unfortunately, their yacht has been damaged and shipwrecked in an area somewhere in 30th parallel south. After the incident, people have believed that Mrs. Gregory was the sole survivor of the accident. However, Mrs. Gregory have always believed that Joan is still alive, so she went to search for her and rescue her. With the help of Jerry, and an immense amount of reward, Joan was found. It turned out that Joan was washed off in a secret man-made island that can magically hide itself under the sea in order to avoid detections.
Contrary to what was aired on other radio shows, the story didn’t end when the missing character was found. The story also includes the life of both the mother and daughter after they were reunited. The role of Mrs. Gregory was played by Sally Creighton, while Will H. Reynolds starred as Captain Tex Bradford, Perry Crandall as the announcer, Tommy Carr as Jerry Hall, and Rosa Barcelo as Joan Gregory. The serial had a total of 132 episodes in collection.
