San Rock Art back ground explanation by David van der Westhuizen of the Living Landscape Project in Clanwilliam. David took us on a journey back into thousands of years ago when the only form of written communication was by means of art.
#1000xafrika selection: Rock art in the Bushmans Kloof
The family-run Bushmans Kloof Wilderness Reserve, situated at the foothills of the Cederberg Mountains only 270 km from Cape Town, is home to over 130 rock art sites which date back some 10,000 years, creating one of the world's largest open-air art galleries. Trained guides conduct daily rock-art walks to rock art sites. One of Bushmans Kloof's most famous rock art sites is a site called Fallen Rock Shelter. It houses one of the largest collections of well-preserved and diverse rock art images known in the region, as well as the largest painting of a San cave dwelling group known in the Western Cape.

Attack of the killer (or just friendly) tortoise
We came upon this large tortoise at the Sevilla Rock Art Trail near Clanwilliam, South Africa. He was definitely friendly, or he wanted to eat us? After the video, we got into the truck and he moved quickly UNDER the truck, and we had to wait for him to move out so we could leave.
