Transit - Bylands Tramway Museum (1998)
John Cannard interviewed Rod Atkins about the Tramway Museum Society of Victoria's
Museum Project at Bylands, near Kilmore.
The Museum is open on some Sundays and houses a wide variety of Trams from all over Victoria. A short ride by tram through the
bushland provides great views.
Illawara Light Railway - Things To Do With Kids
Illawarra Light Railway - Illawarra Light Railway - The kids will love taking a ride on a miniature train, being in the open air and whizzing along the small track. They can also take a seat in the restored carriage while the big steam or diesel locomotive pulls them out of the station, chugging along the track through the bushland setting passing by the platform where they can wave to the people on the platform. Complete a fun day out with a picnic in the grounds, where the kids can play on the playground equipment.

Morphett Vale Miniature Railway Running Day 11/6/17
Hello All,
Here we see a variety of steam and diesel locomotives operating on the Morphett Vale Miniature Railway track located within the natural bushland of the Wilfred Taylor Reserve at Wheatsheaf Road, Morphett Vale.
The MVRail group is a non-profit club that provides train rides to the public on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month but closed on the last Sunday of December. (See the Run Days for dates on their website which listed below)
The club run large scale locomotives of both steam and diesel traction and run on a track that is approximately is 2 kilometres long or 1.24 miles (imp.)
The track gauge is 7 & a quarter inch gauge. Station facilities include a traverser, turntable, workshops, platforms and a two - storey signal cabin along with an extensive station yard with 12 shed roads and numerous other siding roads.
The highlight of the system and which is featured in this video is the Algebuckina Bridge which spans across Christie's Creek and measures over 40 metres in length and is over 4 metres high. There is also a 12-metre tunnel on the system and which is also featured in this video.
The system uses track circuited electric colour-light speed signalling with all signals being automatic; except those at the Morphett Vale station area where signals and switches are controlled from the Signal Cabin (Train Control). Solar powered signals and remote controlled switches are used in various locations around the track circuit.
Thanks for reading
I hope you enjoy :)
