Welcome to one of the warmest places on earth. Shahdad Kalouts are unlike any other natural wonders in so many aspects. The water and soil erosion have created amazing formations in a vast area that has resulted in mysterious landscapes all around the region.
Sand formations which are known as Yardangs are not the only attractions of this region, Nebka trees are other unique features of Shahdad. Also, one of the warmest recorded spots on earth known as Gandom Beryan (meaning “roasted grains”) with a record temperature of 70 degrees centigrade is located in this region.

Shahdad (Persian: شهداد, ) is a city in and the capital of Shahdad District, in Kerman County, Kerman Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 4,097, in 1,010 families.Shahdad is the centre of Shahdad district which includes smaller cities and villages such as Sirch, Anduhjerd, Chehar Farsakh, Go-diz, Keshit, Ibrahim Abad, Joshan and Dehseif.The driving distance from Kerman city to Shahdad is 95 km. Shahdad is located at the edge of the Lut desert. The local climate is hot and dry. The main agricultural produce is date fruits.

North of town the Aratta civilization village and dwarf humans are said to have existed since 6,000 BC. Sharain of emam Zadeh Zeyd, south of town, is the most respected religious site of Shahdad.
The oldest metal flag in human history was found in this city.

The flooding which struck Iran’s southeastern Kerman province in early spring this year has created a beautiful lake in the heart of Lut Desert regarded as the hottest spot on earth.
The newly-born lake lies in the Lut Desert some 50 kilometres from the historical town of Shahdad. The lake is hosting migratory birds, turning it into a tourist attraction, not to mention the other beauties of Lut.

The Lut Desert, widely referred to as Dasht-e Lut (Persian: دشت لوت, Emptiness Plain), is a large salt desert located in the provinces of Kerman and Sistan and Baluchestan, Iran.
It is the world's 25th-largest desert, and was inscribed on UNESCO's World Heritage List on July 17, 2016.
The surface of its sand has been measured at temperatures as high as 70 °C (159 °F), making it one of the world's driest and hottest places.

its about my journey on jan 2017 in lut desert in iran , it takes 9 days of tripping and a lot of experience , my master leader is Hamid Boreiri and road leader is haji azim , with hooman salamat and sara piramoon . i`ve been in lut desert before and u can see my previous movies , all my movies is made by my self by home edition software , im not professional to making video , its just let me remind me the trip by making video . so its for fun :)
Shahdad Kaluts
One of the most exciting geomorphological structures of Lut is the special bumps called Kalut which is the biggest natural clod structure in the world; they are the most unique structures in the desert. Kalouts are similar to parallel tunnels which are positioned from northwest to northeast. Kaluts are 80 km in width, 145 km in length, and in some cases 120 meters high; they are located in the west of Central Lut at a distance of 43 kilometers from Shahdad. From a distance, Kaluts look like the ruins of a big legendary city with grand palaces and buildings both short and high. In fact, these Kaluts were created by the wind and rain, and they are very attractive.
Blazing Dasht - Documentary
On one end of the climate continuum of Iran is a desert which has been recognized as one of the world’s driest and hottest places; Dasht-e Loot. It is a large salt desert in Kerman and Sistan and Baluchestan Province, Iran, and is the world’s 25th largest desert. Decorated with Yardangs, this desert is a popular tourist attraction now hosting an extreme ultra-marathon. Paolo Bargini, the organizer of this event, planned this race to start in an ancient caravansary on the west of the Loot desert for the contestants to run 250 kilometers for six days in the first Iranian Silk Road ultra-marathon. The 35 marathon runners have come from many different countries, some of them for the first time. “This will not be out last trip to Iran,” they all say. In this exclusive documentary by Press TV, the filming crew follows the runners to every step of this international event through the gruesome nature of Dasht-e Loot and you will get to learn about the fascinating life stories of some of the athletes in this race.

I didn't want to stay in this world, I didn't want to be among humans. Those who do not love each other... I've been fighting with myself all this time, I decided to move again, I moved and saw that humanity can't be found in another world. Now it was time to leave for the desert, leave people and live alone. My power was over... I felt a lot of loneliness, I realized that I can't live like others, Everything is intolerable to me, humans change their color every day in this world, they become someone else everyday... کلوت بزرگترین شهر کلوخی دنیا، در کویر لوت و در فاصله 40 کیلومتری شمال شرقی شهداد قرار دارد و بزرگترین عوارض طبیعی و کلوخی دنیا و نیز منحصر به فردترین عارضه کویر است و از دور به شهری بزرگ می ماند با ساختمان‌های کوتاه و بلند
این ابر شهر کلوخی دنیا، 80 کیلومتر عرض و 145 کیلومتر طول دارد. بیش از 11 هزار کیلومترمربع مساحتش است و در دل کویر لوت قرار دارد.
کلوت‌های ایران بزرگترین عارضه دنیا هستند و در آنجا هیچ گیاهی نمی‌روید و اساساً هیچ موجود زنده ای وجود ندارد. در شهر کلوت‌ها حتی باکتری‌ها حق حیات ندارند. آنجا شهری پر از ساختمان‌های کوتاه و بلند است. کلوت‌ها در اثر فرسایش آبی و بادی طی هزاران سال شکل گرفته اند.
دراین شهر کسی زندگی نمی‌کند و هر چه هست سراسر سکوت و آرامش است. کلوت ساختاری است از حرکت باد در دل نرم خاک کویر که در طول سالیان سال شکل گرفته است.
