In summer enjoy the Furano Lavender-matsuri Festival, as well as port festivals in every coastal town held to pray for a good catch and safe fishing. Hokkaido boasts of over 1,200 festivals and events held throughout the year. Ice floes arrive in Abashiri every year in late January. A tourist icebreaker departs from Wakkanai Port, enabling you to see the beautiful, rough blue ice floes.

Autumn Road Trip HOKKAIDO [part three]
Road Tripping in a rental vehicle from the coastal communities southeastern Hokkaido to the National Parks southwest of Sapporo, including visits to Lake Shikotsu, Lake Toya and the lower slopes of Mt Yotei. I also drive the beautiful and wild coastal route around the Shakotan Peninsula, and stop by the town of Otaru.

Otaru-shi of the Hokkaido West Coast is approximately central, and is located on the east side of the Shiribeshi district, and contact with 4 cities, towns and villages including Sapporo-shi.
In approximately 36 kilometers of east and west, north and south approximately 20 kilometers, one of city area faces the Sea of Japan and is much town of slope among the mountains in other Mikata.
In the shoreline, there is Otaru Port which is natural good harbor at approximately 69 kilometers in the center, and the Western heroic shore is appointed in Niseko-Shakotan-Otaru Kaigan Seminational Park.
Because difference of heat and cold is small oceanic climate, it is easy to live in Hokkaido, and, as for the climate, colored leaves can enjoy ski and nature rich throughout the year Sakura and the fresh green in winter in autumn in the summer in spring in golf and Malin leisure.

Summer in Kita-Shiribeshi, Part 2 (Kita-Shiribeshi - Yoichi, Furubira & Shakotan)
Kita-Shiribeshi, with Otaru at its center, not only has a superb view of the blue Shakotan Peninsula, it is popularly well-known for quality seafood and thriving produce. This second series of the area starts with Yoichi Town. MCs Li Qiang and Isis learn the history and depth of the manufacturing process at the scenic grounds of “Nikka Whisky Yoichi Distillery.” At Furubira Town, they marvel at the picturesque view of the famous unique rock formations lining the coastline. At the restaurant Minato-zushi, we take a bite into the seafood bowl overflowing with their best catch, topped with snow crab, sweet shrimp, and sea urchin. At last, we visit Sakotan Town. The two MCs are ecstatic to experience life under the sea, on the New-Shakotan-Go underwater observatory deck, and have another thrill by feeding the visiting seagulls from their very own hands! The best way to finish the adventure: be moved by the vast scenery of the ocean at Cape Kamui, and feel soothed by the crystal clear waters, now lovingly nick-named Shakotan Blue.

Japan Trip: Otaru city Beautiful canal and interesting buildings Hokkaido43 Moopon
Otaru (小樽) is a small harbor city, about 40km(25ml) northwest of Sapporo. With beautifully preserved canal area and interesting herring mansions, Otaru is a pleasant day trip city from Sapporo or a nice stop en route to or from Niseko or the Shakotan Peninsula.
Otaru served as a major trade and fishing port from Hokkaido's colonization in the late 1800s. For this reason it was chosen as the terminal station of Hokkaido's first railway line that connected the port with nearby Sapporo. Many old warehouses and former office buildings by trade and shipping companies give Otaru's city center a special character reminiscent of past decades.

This is just a short video of a bunch of short clips (hah) that I recorded on my 4 day trip to Tokyo. It’s just a rough cut of the different places that I went to. I really just wanted to enjoy my time and not have to worry about recording or taking pics (plus I was pretty lazy) but the next time I go I will definitely make it a point to record vlogs ????????.
My main reason for this trip was RETRO GAME HUNTINGGG which I think I was pretty successful in finding most of the games I wanted. Went to a bunch of book offs and hard offs and of course most of the known retro game stores in Akihabara ????. I’ll probably do a video of the games I picked up soon if I remember haha. Also ate some awesome food but of course anything you eat in Japan is awesome haha ????????.
Have to give a shout out to my friend Ed who is the loud, snoring guy in my video. He hooked it up for me to go to Japan so thanks my bro! ????????
Anyways, thanks for checking out my video if it just randomly popped up in your searches and you were curious lol. Hopefully there will be more in the future. Laters ????????
Places I visited: Friends Game Shop, Retro Game Camp, Traders 1 2 & (3?), Super Potato (of course ???? haha), Mandarake, Book off (Ogikubo, Kichijoji, Hachioji), Hard off (Akihabara, Hachioji) Nakano Broadway (Mandarake card and game shop), Gundam Statue! in Odaiba and the Gundam Base Tokyo store, Pokemon Center Mega Tokyo!, Moon Shiner bar in Shibuya (very cool, random bar we just went to with like a jazzy Cowboy Bebop atmosphere) which is the clip of us in a dark room lol, and random shops and restaurants in Akihabara since that’s where we were staying.

The Chronicles Vlog #15: Casual Saturdays...
The Chronicles Vlog #15 takes you into one of the more typical Saturdays that we experience during a hot summer afternoon. The winter time is usually a little more laid back because the car show season is over but most events happen in the summer time and as such, we try to cram in as much as we can so we don't miss out on anything...
This particular Saturday started early in the morning when Der and I headed down to Long Beach to check out the annual Japanese Classic Car Show. I like to check out this show every year because it is so different than what we would normally experience at a usual car show or meet. The venue is the same as Wekfest Long Beach but the layout is completely different as are the cars that participate. If you love Japanese classics, then I highly suggest you attend if you haven't already. Der and I hang out at the show for a couple of hours while he plays with his new 3-Axis GoPro Gimbal. We're trying to improve the quality of our videos and I think the Gimbal is really helpful in stabilizing our shots as we walk around everywhere.
After the JCCS 2015 event, I head back home to wait for Jenn Q to get her make-up done by make-up marvel Julian Morales before heading up to Santa Monica for her studio shoot. Photographer Natalie Wentworth and Jenn have been playing phone tag for months and they finally arranged a Saturday afternoon where they are both free to shoot. I decided to go along because Jenn asked me to go with her so I wanted to be supportive. Der meanwhile, heads over to Santa Fe Springs where Road Race Engineering was set to tune Phil Sison's Integra from ATS Garage. Unfortunately, we don't have too much footage of that because he ran into ECU issues which didn't allow him to get the car tuned right away.
We later meet up back at HQ before Yuta joins us to check out the Hot Import Nights LA event. HIN isn't the same as it once was before when it was one of the biggest events of the year at the LA Convention Center. Now it has turned into an interesting free-for-all event that takes place on the streets of historical San Pedro. Our evening was open so why not check out HIN to see how it is now?

Gray whale
The gray whale is a baleen whale that migrates between feeding and breeding grounds yearly. It reaches a length of 14.9 meters, a weight of 36 tonnes, and lives between 55 and 70 years. The common name of the whale comes from the gray patches and white mottling on its dark skin. Gray whales were once called devil fish because of their fighting behavior when hunted. The gray whale is the sole living species in the genus Eschrichtius, which in turn is the sole living genus in the family Eschrichtiidae. This mammal descended from filter-feeding whales that developed at the beginning of the Oligocene, over 30 million years ago.
The gray whale is distributed in an eastern North Pacific population and a critically endangered western North Pacific population. North Atlantic populations were extirpated on the European coast before 500 AD and on the American coast around the late 17th to early 18th centuries. However, on May 8, 2010, a sighting of a gray whale was confirmed off the coast of Israel in the Mediterranean Sea, leading some scientists to think they might be repopulating old breeding grounds that have not been used for centuries. In May and June 2013 a gray whale was sighted off the coast of Namibia – the first confirmed in the Southern Hemisphere. The round-trip journey of one gray whale has set a new record for the longest mammal migration, covering a distance of more than 22,000 kilometres across the Pacific Ocean. Her migration has shown new insight into how endangered species are making drastic changes in their life style.
