Shameerpet is ideally good place for those who is looking for a peace and clam environment.You get to see a nice view of sun set and this a best place for photographers.
This lake is just 6 kms from ORR .
We went there on a weekend , took us around 1 hr from Gachibowli. i really enjoyed over ther .. Im planning again with my friends to have a small picnic.
Best time to visit when it's not raining and not too sunny ..
It's just a big lake ,not developed as a tourist destination.No tickets,no snack bars/counters, nothing.
You will find lot of bachelors having alcohol in groups.Also leftover bottles,dead snakes etc.
It's heard that lot of people drowned in the lake.so be careful.

CM KCR Instructed Tourism Department Officials to Develop Shamirpet Lake | Telangana News | YOYO TV
Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao has instructed Tourism Department officials to Develop Shamirpet Lake as visiting place.
Shamirpet lake adjoining the Hyderabad - Karimnagar Rajiv Rahadari and its surrounding areas, should be developed as one of the best tourist spots in the State. The CM said, that, efforts will be put in to fill the tank with full water on all the 365 days and as such arrangements are to be made in such a way that tourists will have full entertainment and pleasure when they visit the place. The CM instructed that an action plan has to be drafted to make the Shamirpet lake and its surroundings as a tourist attraction within a month.
The CM had a discussion with Managing Director, Tourism Development Corporation Sri Manohar and CMO Special Secretary Sri Bhoopal Reddy at Pragathi Bhavan on the subject of making Shamirpet lake area as a tourism center. The CM said, that, as part of Kaleshwaram lift Irrigation project, Shamirpet lake will get water through Konda Pochamma reservoir. In view of the Shamirpet lake from one side, and the canals on the other side are filled with water continuously, the Tourism Department should convert this into an opportunity to make it an attractive one. Since the Shamirpet lake is very close to Hyderabad, there will be a heavy flow of tourists and hence good cottages for the stay of the tourists, play area, lake development and flowering tree all along the lake and canals are to be arranged. The main high way and the area around the tank bed should also be beautified, said CM.
Shamirpet is a suburb in the Medchal district of the Indian state of Telangana. It is the headquarter of Medchal-Malkajgiri district. It is also the mandal headquarter of Shamirpet mandal in Keesara revenue division. Many clubs and resorts such as Leonia Holistic Destination, Celebrity Resorts, Darling Caves, Honeyberg Resort etc., are located here.
It is a part of Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority.
It is home to Shamirpet lake, Jawahar Deer Park, Genome Valley, NALSAR University of Law, Institute of Public Enterprise, BITS Pilani - Hyderabad

The best part about experiencing a place with a local is discovering some beautiful gems off the beaten tourist track. My friend Maz is a local from Hyderabad and this is one of his favorite spots that he’s been coming to since childhood, and Im very grateful he brought me here on his Enfield motorcycle.
