Shantinath Temple Khajuraho - A Famous Jain Temple
Shantinath Temple, a Jain temple in Khajuraho, was constructed around 1028 AD. Khajuraho is a famous historic town in the Chhatarpur district in MP. The temple lures Diagmber Jain pilgrims and devotees all the year round. There is a Dharamshala also near the temple which provides fine lodging. People who worship here with full faith and devotion get their desires fulfilled.
Famous for the 14 feet high idol of 16th Jain Tirthankar, Adinath, in the standing posture, this temple has great religious significance. This massive idol was installed in the Vikrama Samvat 1085. The idol is believed to possess supernatural powers. According to one incident that occurred about 400 years ago, some invaders came to break the idol. As they made their first move by applying the hammer on a finger of the idol, milk started pouring out of it. At the same time, a dense flock of honey bees came out and attacked the invaders who ran away from there hurriedly. These and many other such incidences prove the miraculous powers of the idol.
At the corners of the temple, there are some small side chapels. The walls of the temple are creamy yellow. Unlike the Hindu Temples, this temple is roofed only around the edges and open from the center portion. An important place with great religious significance, this Shantinath temple is a must see on your Khajuraho trip.

This city has witnessed many rises and falls. Stone inscriptions of the year 1333 of the Vikrama Samvat (1277 AD) are found among ruins of temples. There are signs here and there showing that Lord Mahavira Swami, the 24th Jain Tirthankar wandered about here. They can provide historical evidence to researchers.
There was a time when this city had a circumference of 64 kilometres and the fort had 84 gates. This city looked beautiful with hundreds of pinnacled temples. From the 7th to the 10th century, talented Jain monk/writer Acharya Haribhadra, Mundas Gani, Udayprabhsuri, Mahnedrsuri, Rajendrasuri and many more created here valuable Jain literature and sanctified and beautified this place. The temple of the 23rd Jain Tirthankar Parshvanatha in Hathi pole area is regarded to be very ancient. This temple has great archaeological importance. A golden idol of Shri Parshvanatha in Padmasana posture is the presiding deity.[citation needed]
Apart from the many ancient Jain Temples across the town, there is a temple of jains called 72 Jinalayas,It is the largest jain temple which conclude 19 years of its making. One more significant temple complex dedicated to Mahavir Swami and Osia Mataji called as Bafna Waddi Tirth is there just outside the town.
Out of 108 Parshvanatha, Shri Bhaya-Bhanjan Parshvanatha also located in the town where thousands of Jain and other pilgrims come to the town and offer their prayer here.

Godiji Parshwanath(श्री गोडीजी पार्श्वनाथ) Jain Temple in Bhinmal, District. Jalor, Rajasthan, India. भीनमाल.
Godiji Parshwanath (Hindi: श्री गोडीजी पार्श्वनाथ) is the name given to several images of the Jain Tirthankar Parshwananth in India, and to the temple where it is the main deity (mulanayaka). Parshwanath was the 23rd Tirthankara who attained nirvana in 777 BCE.
The original image, about 1.5 feet high, was at Gori in Tharparkar district of Pakistan. The original temple still stands, but is empty. It is in village of Gori between Islamkot and Nagarparkar.
Among the images that bear the name Godiji Parshwanth, the best known is Godiji Parshvanath in the Pydhonie locality of Mumbai. It was established in beginning of the eighteenth century in the Fort Jain Deraser area.
Seth Amichand of Khambhat settled in Mumbai and constructed a griha jinalaya. The temple was moved in 1803 to Pydhonie locality because of a fire. In 1811, his sons Nemchand and Modishah acquired the current site, and in 1812 the Pratishtha ceremony was conducted. The brick and wood structure was complete replaced by a three story marble structure in 1989.
Its 200th anniversary was celebrated in April 15-May 12. 2012. A stamp commemorating this celebration was released by Milind Deora, the then Minister of State for Communications and IT, on April 17, 2012.
Other Godiji Parshwanth temples are at Pune, Jaswantpura, Mohbatnagar, Shivnagar, Falaudi, Laaj,Gohili, Jalore, Sanchor, Hyderabad, Guntur, Chitradurga, etc.
According to traditional accounts, compiled in early 20th century by Yati Ramlal Gani,[18] the members of the Gothi clan of Oswals are the descendants of Megha Sa. They now live in various part of India.
There are many remains of Jain temples in Nagarparkar region. Several Oswal clans trace their descent from this region.

Khajuraho, India: The Eastern Group of Jain Temples
Once again, I apologize for consistently mispronouncing Khajuraho - kept putting a Khoo in it. What can I say...duh.
The Eastern Temple group is small and only two Jain Temples make it worth visiting. Parshvanatha Temple, built between 950-970 AD with beautiful sculptures on its exterior and Adinatha Temple, names for the first Jain Tirthankara,Adinatha. Some of the other temples are active while still more are in deplorable shape. It won't take you long to visit this area and from here, it was on to Orchha, the once capital of the Bundela Kings, One of the most powerful kingdoms in Central India.
Jain Temple.Beautiful Nasiyan Jain Mandir Ajmer,Rajasthan,India.Jain Temples in India.Jain Religion
jain temples in rajasthan. Jain Temple. Nasiyan Jain Temple. Soniji Ki Nasiyan. Ajmer Jain Temple. Jain Temples in India. Jain. Famous jain temple. Jain Religion. Jain Mandir.
The Ajmer Jain temple, also known as Soniji Ki Nasiyan, is an architecturally rich Jain temple. It was built in the late nineteenth century. The main chamber, known as the Swarna Nagari City of Gold, has several gold-plated wooden figures, depicting several figures in the Jain religion.
Kurt Titze, in his book, Jainism: A Pictorial Guide to the Religion of Non-Violence (1998, p. 143), writes on Soniji Ki Nasiyan:[1]
Ajmer's main attraction is - for the Jainas - the prominently situated Nasiayan Digambara Temple, or rather the two-storied Svarana Nagara Hall behind the temple, better known as the Museum. Both the temple and the museum were built and are still owned by the Sony family of Ajmer. The temple, dedicated to Rishabha or Adinatha in 1865, was constructed of red sandstone in a matter of a few years, but it took twenty-five years, from 1870 to 1895, to fashion - by artisans at Jaipur - the thousands of individual parts required to assemble a three-dimensional replica of the story of Rishabha in accordance with an old manuscript by Acharya Jinasena.
The thought to have such a three-dimensional model for educational purposes occurred to Seth Moolchand Soni, who was born in 1830, only after the completion of the temple. His death in 1891 prevented him from seeing his ambitious work in its finished state.
In many Jaina temples one sees painted or figurative representations of the 'five auspicious events' (pancha-kalyanak) in the life of every Tirthankara: conception, birth, renunciation, enlightenment, and salvation (moksha or nirvana). The one at Ajmer, now over a hundred years old, is by far the largest and most artistic plastic representation of that much-loved mythological narrative. A specially designed hall of 24.3 m by 12.2 m had to be built to display it effectively. It is open to visitors of all religions every day all the year round for a very small entry fee.
Greatly revered by the Digambar sect of the Jains, the Nasiyan temple is dedicated to Lord Rishabhdev, first of the 24 Tirthankars [religious path makers of the Jains] by Rai Bahadur Seth Moolchand and Nemichand Soni. It is situated on Prithvi Raj Marg in Ajmer, the heart of Rajasthan state in India. The foundation of this magnificent Jain temple was laid on 10 October 1864 and the image of the first Tirthankar Lord Rishabhdev (Adinath), was installed in the Sanctum Sanctorum on 26 May 1865. This work was carried out under the able guidance of the great scholar Pandit Sadasukhdasji of Jaipur.
The name of the temple is Siddhkoot Chaityalaya. It is also known as 'Red Temple' as it is built of red sand stone or 'Nasiyan of Seth Moolchand Soni' signifying the founder’s name. After the Svarna Nagri was added to the temple in 1895 A.D. it popularly began to be called as 'Sone ka Mandir' or 'Soni Mandir' emphasizing the golden structure as well as the family name. The halls of this temple are adorned with fascinating series of large, gilt wooden figures and delicate paintings that display scenes from Jain scriptures.
Main Temple:
The entrance gate of the temple is made of red sand stone brought from Karauli. In front of the gateway is the marble staircase, leading to the main temple, which is embellished with the images of the Tirthankars.
Vedi’s:
The central image is of Lord Rishabhdev seated in the Samavasharana - in which He imparts true knowledge to the suffering humanity, so that they get liberated from the entanglements of life and death. In the year 2005, the 3 Vedi's were renovated and all the idols of Tirthankaras were re-installed amidst religious rituals and ceremonies. In this portion only Jains are allowed to perform their religious rituals.
Manastambha:
On entering this historical temple one gets the view of the beautifully and artistically designed 82 feet high Manastambha. R. B. Seth Tikamchand Soni laid the foundation and R. B.
