Chinese Picnic & Scholarship Award - OCA Cleveland 2013
A decades long tradition in Cleveland is the Annual Chinese Picnic at the Edgewater Park, Upper Pavilion, sponsored by the Cleveland Chinese Benevolent Association. It is a wonderful gathering for the community to enjoy activities, food, and raffles. One of the highlights is the awarding of Scholarships for the graduating High School Seniors with the highest Grade Point Average (GPA). The OCA Cleveland Asian American Advocates also supports the Picnic by awarding an additional Scholarship to the highest GPA student. The award was presented by current OCA V.P. of Administration, Wayne Wong, who was also a past recipient of the CCBA GPA Award many years ago. The 2013 winner was Tyler Cho, from Westlake High School.
