How to stay cool in hot summer? Take some tips from pandas
Giant pandas at the Shenyang Forest Wild Zoo in northeastern China have lots of methods to cool down during summer. With temperatures reaching 32℃, zoo keepers have prepared ice blocks for pandas to help them deal with the summer heat.

Naughty Giant Panda VS Smart Zoo Keeper! Who is Better?
A smart giant panda keeper at northeast China's Shenyang Forest Zoo has racked his brain to bring naughty pandas come to terms and make them happy.
The giant panda keeper, Liu Bowen, has thought up a number of tricks to tame the naughty giant panda, named Fa Fa.
Fa Fa is short-tempered and everyday it would come out its room and run wild in the panda pavilion. Often than not, it would hurt itself as there are many facilities and barriers in it. To prevent it from running wild, the keeper put a fitness ball in front of its room in an attempt to arouse its curiosity. After the panda gets used to it and loses interest, the keeper replaced the ball with a sack, a PVC tube or bamboo shoots.
To make the life of the pandas more interesting, the keeper tried to put new toys in the enclosure. But pandas often ignore them. A few days ago, the keeper installed a big swing and tried to make them play by putting some bamboo shoot on it. It turned out the pandas really found it and came to play and sit on it while enjoying the bamboo shoots.
But not all the tricks are successful. To make Fa Fa eat carrot that it does not like, the keeper hid the carrot in the steamed bread. But gradually, Fa Fa discovered the trick and picked out the carrot in the bread and threw it away.
By and by, the pandas have developed their countermeasures. The best in doing so is Giant Panda Pu Pu, who comes out with the blackmailing trick.
One day, the keeper came without any food for the pandas. Discovering this, Pu Pu deliberately fell down on to the ground as if being hurt. It refused to get up until the keeper brought some delicious food for it.
Pu Pu is very popular among visitors. It has, in fact, become a web star for its cute tricks. Knowing that the keeper never hurts it, it is very glad to interact with the keeper. When the keeper delays delivering food to it, it would retreat a few steps and lie down, rather disgruntled.

Male Panda Psychs Himself Real High with Self-amusement
The giant panda is a species of solitary animal. But giant pandas can be very self-amusing and self-entertaining in solitude, just like a panda at the Liaoning Shenyang Forest Zoo in northeast China.
Fafa, the only male giant panda at the zoo, is always seen psyching himself up with various and varied tricks and treads in private.
Fafa looks smaller by size and more innocent by expression to have commanded more attention and care and delicacies from zoo keepers and panda breeders. But behind their backs, Fafa can be very merry-making if not outright mischievous by nature.

Fabulous Chinese Lower Cretaceous Insect Fossils
ChaoYang Formation, Liaoning Province of China ,Far and away, the hottest spot on earth for Paleontology is China. Fossils abound in this huge nation, and among the famous localities are the many formations in the remote Northwestern Liaoning Province. According to the January 12, 2001 issue of the prestigious journal Science, Paleontologists are flocking to China, which has beefed up its support of the field to take advantage of troves of superbly preserved specimens. Fossils unearthed in Liaoning Province, for example, may help end one of the most high-powered debates in paleontology--whether birds evolved from dinosaurs.Phenomenal finds in the past few years in Liaoning include Liaoxiornis delicatus the smallest bird known from the Mesozoic, and Hyphalosaurus sinohydrosaurus (Nature 401, 262, 1999) a long-necked diapsid reptile. The famous bird, Confuciusornis sanctus, was described in 1995 from three partial skeletons, but Chinese workers have discovered many new and complete specimens that show almost all aspects of the skeletal anatomy and much of the plumage. Then there is Protopteryx fengningensis (Science: Volume 290, Number 5498, Issue of 8 Dec 2000, pp. 1955-1959). Many more are cued

Giant Panda Finds Ways to Entertain Himself Despite Being Alone
More from Inside Edition:
Fafa is the only male giant panda at Liaoning Shenyang Forest Zoo, but that doesn't seem to bother him. He's regularly seen hyping himself up, even when he's all by himself. Giant pandas are known as solitary animals, and this guy sure makes the best of it. No one tell Fara that one is the loneliest number. InsideEdition.com's Keleigh Nealon ( has more.

Jiu Zhai Gou China National Park Fairy Lake Part 3
Jiu Zhai Gou China National Park Part 3
We take a bus to another part of the park. This time, due to the many steps to climb, we hire a sedan chair to bring us up! Otherwise, it would be too tiring.
It is said that if there should be wonderlands on the earth, Jiuzhai Valley must be one of them. There is no equal elsewhere that has sceneries and fables of dreamlike eloquence, or natural purities like a fairyland as it.
Jiuzhai Valley National Park is located in Nanping County, 450 kilometers (about 280 miles) to the north of Chengdu City. Its name is due to the existence of nine stockaded villages of Tibetan origin, and it is always regarded as a holy mountain and watercourse by the Tibetan people.
It is a great masterpiece of nature having dreamlike scenery, which combines blue lakes, waterfalls, verdant forests, snow-covered mountains, and the folk customs of the Tibetan and Qiang peoples. Legend has it that long long ago the deity of mountain named Dago had a crush on the goddess Semo, and he gave a mirror that was made from wind and cloud to the goddess. However, the devil appeared and made trouble to Semo. Inadvertently, Semo broke the mirror into 108 pieces, which fell down to the earth and then turned to 108 colorful lakes. The lake is also called Haizi by local people.
In addition to the dreamlike sceneries, there are numerous flora and fauna in the scenic area. The natural forest covers an area of nearly 30,000 hectares (about 74,132 acres), including 2,576 higher plant species (24 species of national protected plants) and over 400 lower plant species (212 species of algae). The diversity of flora has provided a good environment for wild animals. There are 170 species of vertebrates, 141 species of birds and 17 species of rare animals. Among them the first rank has giant pandas, takins and golden monkeys and the second rank has lesser pandas, marmots, and blue sheep.
Jiuzhaigou Valley Scenic and Historic Interest Area covers more than 600 square kilometers (about 230 square miles). Shuzheng Valley, Rize Valley and Zechawa Valley are the three main valleys, but the sceneries are far more than you expect. There are Panda Lake Waterfall which has the longest drop in Jiuzhai Valley and freezes to a crystal world in winter, the giant calc-sinter beach Pearl Beach, the Arrow Bamboo Lake that has a large area of bamboo, the favorite food of pandas, and Swan Lake where swans inhabit ...
Avatar's Home Discovered!!!_Best Place on Earth!
Zhangjiajie National Forest Park in China is the prototype for various elements in the movie 'Avatar,' including the 'Hallelujah Mountains,' which has recently been renamed from the Southern Sky Column.
The site was first visited by Hollywood photographers in 2008 and many pictures became the prototype for the hit movie Avatar. Standing 1074 meters above the sea level, the stunning peak is said to have inspired to create the floating Hallelujah Mountains on the fictional planet of Pandora.

10 Reasons Zoos Are Bad for the Planet
Most people have fond memories of going to the zoo. The experience of waiting, in anticipation, to see a lion or a tiger come out of its cave. Leaning close to the glass as a chimpanzee or orangutan comes closer.
