Shijiazhuang
Shijiazhuang, formerly romanized Shihkiachwang, is the capital and largest city of North China's Hebei Province. Administratively a prefecture-level city, it is about 263 kilometres southwest of Beijing, and it administers 8 districts, 2 county-level cities, and 12 counties.
At the 2013 census, it had a total population of 12,763,700, with 4,303,700 in the central area comprising the 7 districts and the county of Zhengding largely conurbated with the Shijiazhuang metropolitan area as urbanization continues to proliferate. Shijiazhuang's total population ranked twelfth in mainland China.

As one of ‘China’s Ten Most Renowned Temples’, Longxing Temple in Zhengding, Hebei, is 20 minutes’ drive away from Shijiazhuang. Historically, the Zhengding county, together with Beijing and Baoding, were called ‘three most important cities in the north’. The temple preserves a Northern-Song-Dynasty-style layout and houses treasures with a history of over a thousand years. Liang Sicheng and Lu Xun were once astonished by it. Following Ding Yao, an architecture scholar, Yit visits Longxing Temple to explore the miracles from a thousand years ago.

A Quick Tour of the Beijing Railway Museum in China
Video courtesy of The Beijing Railway Museum 北京铁路博物馆 opened in 2008 in the old Zhengyangmen East Railway Station and is conveniently located just to the southeast of the Tian'anmen Square. In 2010, the Beijing Railway Museum was renamed the Zhengyangmen Branch of the China Railway Museum. This is because the main China Railway Museum 中国铁道博物馆 (traditional Chinese is 中國鐵道博物館) is located about 15 km northeast of Zhengyangmen Branch in central Beijing near Tian'anmen Square.
The larger of these two Chinese museums focuses on preserving locomotives that were built dating back as far as 1949 in the People's Republic of China. This museum has an impressive 16500 square meters of exhibition space with 8 exhibition tracks.
The downtown Beijing Railway Museum focuses more on the 130 years of railway development and exhibits photographs and models to construction of track, trains, stations etc., and features some of the MOW machinery used to maintain the railroad tracks. The 10,000 square meter Beijing central museum also shows plenty of information on the high speed bullet trains and how the rail network is expanding across China. It even features a CRH-3 Bullet Train Simulator Cockpit where you can drive a bullet train.
If you are interested in railroading or model trains then you are sure to find both of these Chinese museums of interest, especially with the Zhengyangmen Branch located so conveniently close to the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square. A great tour stop-over on your vacation.

TEMPLES IN ZHENGDING | China Vlog 3
Located 13 km North-West of Shijiazhuang city center is Zhending county. You can take Bus 164 from the North train station to get there or pay about 50RMB for a Didi. Zhending has a few temples to see but we highly recommend going to Longxing Temple. The entrance fee is 50RMB per person and it is much bigger than you would expect.
