Detailed overview
Perched on the Nallamala Hills which are wrapped up by thick deciduous forests, Srisailam or Shrishailam is an important pilgrimage center in Kurnool District of Andhra Pradesh. Positioned on the banks of the massive river Krishna, this town boasts of the classical shrine of Lord Mallikarjuna on the level top of Nallamala Hills of the Eastern Ghats. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, this temple is one of the oldest free-standing temples of India. Besides being a holy place, Srisailam has scenic landscapes and gushing river Krishna flowing through it. The nature of work in Srisailam will definitely entice us.
Itinerary
The tour starts with your pick up from the hotel/residence in Hyderabad at your preferred time slot.
Take a drive to Srisailam which is approximately 220 KM from Hyderabad and it would take almost 5 hours to reach.
After reaching Srisailam, you can visit the following places which are mostly religious in nature:
Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple: One of the sacred temples which are believed to be very powerful, this is also one amongst the 12 Jyotirlingas of India.
Srisailam Dam: It is one of the 12 largest hydroelectric projects in India and is built on the river Krishna.
Shikareshwara temple: This temple is also dedicated to Lord Shiva. It provides beautiful views of the surrounding landscapes and a view of the river Krishna.
After the completion of the tour, you will be driven back to Hyderabad which would take almost 4-5 hours to reach and you will be dropped back to the starting point.

This is an outstation tour hence the vehicle can not be used for the local city tour.

Sedans (4-seater) models provided are Suzuki Dzire, Toyota Etios or similar.
SUV (6-seater) models provided are Toyota Innova, Mahindra Xylo, Suzuki Ertiga or similar.
Night charge of Rs. 300 is applicable if the cab service is used between 10:00 pm to 6:00 am.
The tour has a kilometer limit of 400 kilometers.
After 400 kilometers, additional per kilometer charge will be applicable (to be paid directly to the driver)
For Sedan (4-seater) - Rs. 10 per km (additional kilometer charge).

The shrine of GOD Mallikarjuna picturesquely situated on a flat top of Nallamalai Hills, Srisailam is reputed to be one of the most ancient kshetras in India. It is on the right side of the River Krishna in Kurnool District of Andhra Pradesh. This celebrated mountain is also named as Siridhan, Srigiri, Sirigiri, Sriparvatha and Srinagam. It has been a popular centre of Saivite pilgrimage for centuries.
The temple of Bhramaramba is faces to the east and located in the back court yard of the main complex at an elevated level and is very near to the western Gopuram of main prakaram. The temple is surrounded by an enclosure with varamandapas at the innersides.

The nearest Airport is Hyderabad (230 K.M.) from where buses are plying to Srisailam everyday frequently.
Rail
Markapur, which is 91 K.M. from Srisailam in Guntur-Hubli, line on South Central Railway from where buses are available to Srisailam.

Srisailam is well connected by A.P.S.R.T.C. & T.S.R.T.C Buses not only from all corners of the State but also from Bangalore, Chennai etc. The Karnataka Road Transport Corporation is also running buses from various main cities of that state.
