Shikisai-no-oka: A Grand Garden in the Heart of Hokkaidō | Nippon.com: Japan in Video
Shikisai-no-oka is a 14-hectare flower garden in Biei, a town located in central Hokkaidō. A 15-minute ride in the canopied cars of Norokko, the garden’s tractor bus, takes visitors on a circuit of the grounds, where 50 types of ornamental plants are displayed in rotation from May through October. The pretty blossoms of June include poppies and bellflowers. In July and August lavender and snapdragons are among the plants that turn entire fields into multicolored carpets. And from mid-September to October the garden showcases autumn flowers like marigolds and plumed cockscombs.

The panoramic flower gardens of Shikisai-no-oka provide spectacular views across fifteen hectares of land on Oka-no-machi Biei. It is a paradise of seasonal blossoms from spring through to fall, in which several dozen different species of flowers and grasses flourish.
The Shikisai-no-oka Norokko (tractor bus) is a very popular ride that takes a slow run through the most impressive course in the vast Shikisai-no-oka Park. It stops once during the ride for taking photographs against a background of breathtaking flowers.
Time Required: 15 minutes Fare:Elementary school, junior high school students 300 yen, high school students 500 yen or more * There is one photograph stop en route.

美瑛町パノラマロードの小高い丘にある「展望花畑 四季彩の丘」は、
7ヘクタール（東京ドーム3個分）もの広さを有し、季節によってはラベンダーやルピナス、コスモス、ヒマワリなど年間約30種類の草花が、丘全体にカラフルなじゅうたんのように咲く美瑛を代表する花園。
園内には農産物直売所やお土産販売所、レストランなどがあり、トラクターバスで園内を巡る四季彩ノロッコ号、白樺に囲まれた花畑を一周できる貸しバギー、花畑の好きな場所に移動できる4人乗りのカートといったアトラクションもあります。
