STANDING HOT SPRINGS - Kumamoto, Japan Vlog
Kumamoto Onsen (hot springs) is one of many famous hot springs in Kyushu. On the second day of our trip to Kyushu, we visited Kumamoto from Fukuoka!

It's part 3 of our Kyushu adventure!
Last time: We brought you to the historical Nagasaki City and the traditional Unzen! This time, we will be heading to another majestic destination, and one of the most famous in Japan: Kumamoto! Experience the sights and history of Kumamoto. Afterwards, let's head back to where the journey started: Fukuoka!

ITINERARY:
DAY 5:
1. Check out of hotel in Unzen and head to Shimabara Port.
2. Take the ferry to Kumamoto port.
3. Take a bus from Kumamoto port to Kawaramachi.
4. Check-in at Mitsui Garden Hotel.
5. Explore Kumamoto Castle site.
6. Check out Kumamoto castle museum.
7. Dine at a local restaurant.
8. Explore Kumamoto nightlife.
9. Rest.
Day 6:
1. Eat breakfast at hotel.
2. Check-out but leave your luggage at the hotel.
3. Take the tram to the Suizenji Park.
4. Enjoy the view at the park and avail of the tea serving experience.
5. Claim luggage from hotel and head to Kumamoto Station.
6. Take the bullet train to Kumamoto.
7. Check-in at Book and Bed Tokyo Fukuoka Branch.
8. Have dinner in Tenjin.
9. Walk around and enjoy.
10. Rest.

When most people think of Tokyo, they think of the crowded streets of Harajuku, Shibuya's busy crosswalk, sky-high towers and flashing lights, but did you know that Tokyo has a countryside too? Kim Dao, Norm of Tokyo Lens, and I went on a bus tour that took us through the Greater Tokyo Area and we learned that Tokyo is more than just crowds, people, and chaos.

【Quality of 9】Hiraodai in Kitakyushu
Four months have passed since the Kumamoto Earthquake which occurred in April 2016. Ten representatives from Japan and other countries who took part in Miss International Pageant 2015 and 2016 traveled around Kyushu as restoration support. This is a video that shows they gradually find charm of Kyushu with their own sensitivity through people they met, the foods they savored and the scenery they were impressed by.
What is Yaki Curry? Local delicacy from Mojiko, Kitakyushu
What is Yaki Curry? Yaki curry (baked curry) originated in Mojiko and is a popular dish. An egg is cracked over a bowl of rice, and then homemade curry is poured over that, and shredded cheese is sprinked on top before it is all thrown into the oven and baked. The result is a super cheesy curry that tastes really really good.

On the other side of the beautifully arched Kintai-kyo Bridge in Iwakuni city, Yamaguchi Prefecture, visitors can see the statue of Kikkawa Hiroyoshi. Kikkawa, the 3rd lord of Iwakuni, was heavily involved in the construction of the bridge after the original bridge was washed away.
Behind Kikkawa’s statue is Kikko Park, a beautiful, spacious area blessed with nature. During the Edo Periods, the residences of the Kikkawa family were located here, in Kikko Park with relatives living nearby. As a result, in addition to the fountains and spectacular natural surroundings, Kikko Park contains ruminants of former samurai residences and museums displaying historic artifacts of this part of Japan.

Hours: 9:00 to 17:00
Closed: Mondays (if Monday is a national holiday, the museum will be closed the following day)
Admission: Free
This museum features artifacts on everyday life. However, there are Japanese traditional scroll paintings as well as displays of Kintai-kyo Bridge.
