***Japan With Me - Episode 12 (Stream at 1080p for BETTER-QUALITY video)*** After a wonderful time at the Lavender Farm in Furano, we continued on with our tour to the destination after the art gallery. The Blue Pond is actually a man-made pond! Surprise, surprise!!! It really depends on where you stand cuz the pond can change the hue, ranging from bright blue to grayish blue! Winter would be the best time to visit. It will be very cool but the scenery would be so beautiful! It was raining non-stop but luckily I got some good shots at the place. The last stop for our tour is at Shirahige Falls. It was just so beautiful, especially with the heavy rains coming down in the last few days. At the end of the day, my cousin and I all went by to this ramen place right across from the Sapporo Station, under the bridge! This was quite good actually. The noodles themselves were soft but yet chewy. The price was good as well, not too expensive. To top it off, the yolk of the egg was so yellow and delicious. Since this is the last day of my Hokkaido vlog, I'd like to say thank you to all my cousins' friends for welcoming me and my host, Chay, for letting me stay at his place. From JR Asahikawa Station, take bus no. 39 to Shirogane Hot Spring at bus stop no. 8. No need to reserve tickets in advance. Just pay on the bus upon getting off.
Fare is 1070 yen if I remember it correctly, one way, getting off at the blue pond bus stop.
If you want to catch the return bus to Asahikawa or Biei, you must explore the pond in 30 minutes or less so that you would have time to walk back to the road to catch the bus (on the other side of the road). Otherwise, you would have to wait for more than 3 hours for the next bus. If you have your own car, then this won't be an issue.
I opted to explore the pond longer and instead of catching the return bus or waiting for 3 hours or so for the next one, I walked for about 40 minutes to check out the Shirahige falls in the Shirogane Hot Spring area where a few onsen hotels and tourist information center are located. Unfortunately, that day was a public holiday hence the information center was closed. It was cold and freezing since it was snowing. There is a hotel next to it where I sought warmth instead.
I took the return bus at the hot spring area to JR Asahikawa for 1180 or 1190 yen, I think.

Hokkaido Waterfall Shirahige (白ひげの滝) Summer - Travel clip
Shirahige Falls is a spectacular waterfall situated 600 meters above sea level in the town of Biei, southeast of Asahikawa. White curtains of water cascading through gaps in the cliff give this natural landmark its name, which means “white beard waterfall.” Shirahige Falls is unusual for a Japanese waterfall in that it flows from an underground river. The waterfall is particularly stunning in the winter when frost-encrusted trees and shimmering icicles showcase the blue ravine below.
Seasonal light-up events make the aura even more magical. Although the illumination period usually lasts from November to April, exact dates may vary by year. When visiting, be sure to wear warm clothes appropriate for subzero temperatures.
After seeing the waterfall, head to nearby Biei Shirogane Onsen. This all-natural hot spring, open since 1950, is rich in minerals like magnesium and calcium sulfate. The open-air bath lets you bathe among the snowy winter landscape.

Amazing Blue Pond and Shirahige Waterfalls
Today we take a visit to an amazingly blue pond located in Biei, Hokkaido Japan and the Shirogane area. Also we stop by a cascading waterfall called Shirahige Falls.On the way home we stop at a Smoked Meats shop.

Biei is a town located in Kamikawa (Ishikari) District, Kamikawa Subprefecture, Hokkaido, Japan.
白ひげの滝
美瑛川の白金小函にある湧水の滝である。渓谷の断崖の岩の隙間から細く数多く流れ落ちる青みがかった滝水が白い髭にみえることから命名されたとされる。
幅約40メートルある滝は温泉街中心に程近い美瑛川に架かるブルーリバー橋から一望でき、また滝の直ぐ上には白金温泉バス停とホテル群がある。
