Shirahone Onsen (白骨温泉) is a lovely onsen (hot springs) town located within the Northern Japan Alps in Nagano Prefecture. The name shirahone literally means “white bone”. This may be due to the milky white spring water, which is nearly opaque with magnesium and calcium sediments. The water here is known for its healing powers and it is believed drinking this water can cure gastrointestinal pains.
There is only one public bath in this town. However, many of the ryokan (inns) allow non-staying visitors to use their hot springs baths (onsen) in the daytime for a nominal charge.
Awanoyu Ryokan (Inn) is mountain onsen ryokan. This facility has both mixed gender baths as well as gender separated baths. There are two outdoor baths: one is a mixed gender bath and the other is an only women bath. There are two indoor baths: one for men and the other for women. It is believed the water here provides relief to stomach ulcers, rheumatism, neuralgia, and skin problems. The water is nearly opaque and has a nice silky feel to it. Also, compared to different hot springs (onsen), the water is said to be lukewarm.

Japanese Hotel Room Tour - Amazing Traditional Ryokan With Private Bath!
I got to spend two nights in an unbelievable traditional Japanese hotel room in the Nagano Prefecture. The ryokan is called Yumoto Saito and is located at Shirahone Onsen (白骨温泉) near Matsumoto in Nagano.
In this video I take you on a hotel room tour, show you the area of Shirahone Onsen and share an amazing dinner experience.
Staying in a ryokan is one of my favourite things to do. It is incredibly relaxing. You can't beat it if you combine it with the traditional Japanese onsen experience.
This particular hotel room came with its own private bath on a balcony with a nice view of the Japanese mountains.
Shirahone Onsen was named after its unique water. Shirahone means white bone, named after the milky white hot spring water you'll find in that area. A truly unique experience.
This hotel room was a crazy experience I'll never forget!

長野県松本市にある「白骨温泉 小梨の湯 笹屋」。
白骨温泉の一番奥にある白樺に囲まれた一軒宿です。
民芸調の小さな旅館。
温泉は乳白色のにごり湯。
濃厚でありながら肌触りがよく柔らかいお湯と好評。
泉温が低いため熱交換による温度調整を行っていますが、加水・加温はなく源泉かけ流し100%です。
白い析出物で覆われた大浴場、白樺に囲まれ遠くに乗鞍岳の見える貸切露天風呂と、お風呂の風情が素晴らしい宿です。

白骨温泉の露天風呂、以前は村営露天風呂でしたが、今は松本市営ですかね、ここもいろいろありましたが今はまじめにやってるのでしょう、お湯が新鮮なので白濁する前に流れてしまうのでしょう。

対岸の崖崩れを補修のために工事用の仮道がすぐ前にできており、また事故防止のために2年間休業の張り紙がありました。

Shirahone Onsen adalah kota onsen (sumber air panas) yang menyenangkan berlokasi didalam Pengunungan Alpen Jepang Utara di Prefektur Nagano. Nama dari shirahone berarti “tulang putih”. Hal ini mungkin disebabkan oleh mata air susu putih, yang hampir buram dengan sedimentasi magnesium dan kalsium. Air disini dikenal untuk kekuatan penyembuhannya dan diyakini bila meminum air ini bisa menyembuhkan penyakit gastrointestinal.
Hanya ada 1 pemandian umum di kota ini. Selain itu, banyak ryokan (penginapan) memperbolehkan pengunjung yang tidak menginap untuk menggunakan pemandian air panas (onsen) saat siang hari dengan dikenakan biaya.
Awanoyu Ryokan (penginapan) adalah onsen ryokan gunung. Tempat ini memiliki baik pemandian campuran juga pemandian yang terpisah. 平湯も便利になりました、ここは温泉の種類も豊富、湯量も豊富な見本のような温泉地です、その中でも老舗の平湯館ですが、料理もまじめで好印象でした。

3/31に民事再生申請のニュースが有りました、営業は継続している模様です、新館建築等の設備投資が負担とのことですが、こんな老舗でも苦しいのですね、皆さん応援してあげてください。
